Loved the late check in anywhere up until midnight which was great for us as we'd been out at the Lovedale Long Lunch all day and then went out afterwards. The pub was going off when we arrived so we carried on with a beer and boogied with the DJ. Staff here are great too, super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very modern and private with comfy bed. The bathrooms, although shared, were private, individual units, modern design and clean. Breakfast was well supplied. Very good value for pub accommodation.

It's the place to go after a hen's, bucks, weekend away with the girls/guys, birthday party. The noise really isn't that bad, but you're not getting the full experience if you're not in Newcastle to party. A bit noisy until midnight but settled after that. Working pub so early starts and no lie ins Sometimes noise travelled from downstairs. A little bit noisy (but it's a pub, so that's to be expected!). Noisy fridges at night. Not much sound insulation for the rooms; especially as the area downstairs is a bar. The huge noise which come from the bar just downstairs. No milk in the morning and no bread left to make toast. The breakfast on the website showed a full hot breakfast in the dining room this wasn't the case so value for money was not as good when breakfast was cereal in a small kitchenette. A bit expensive. Could do with ensuites. Noise from the bar when trying to sleep. When I booked I didn't know it was a pub. Very happy. Small rooms & needs large TVs in the room. The staff is lovely and I have stayed there before. The first time we loved it. However, this time we booked a 'queen room" only to find out that queen room for them stands for a tiny room with a huge bed. Sorry but they need better management.
