Excellent location and close proximity to CBD and able to walk to quite a few attractions in Darwin itself. Short trip to Cullen Bay Ferry, Mindl Markets and Darwin Sailing Club to watch sunset which is a must. Very friendly accommodating staff and service of rooms excellent. Friendly service. Room cleaned well & while we were out. Breakfast good value for money $ 20/ head. Pool clean & surroundings very pretty. Good advice from reception on where to find take away wine on Sunday evening( not easy in Darwin on Sunday evening).
all reviews » The overall holiday feel of the resort, with lots of palms and other greenery. The villa's with their outside deck, though not huge, also contribute to this holiday feeling, although the resort is located right in the hart of the cbd of Darwin. We were very happy with everything at the resort. Loved that we had a Villa and so close to the pool which we made good use of. the verandah is a great idea, able to sit out there to relax,read, talk,eat or just watch the world go by. The staff were only too helpful to our needs. Very friendly and offering their knowledge , most useful as it was our first time in Darwin I would and have already recommended this venue to friends and look forward to a visit again. We like the BBQ pit located at our balcony and the full set of cutleries, microvave oven, washing basin etc available in the room. Makes it so convenient to grab some groceries from the supermarket and home-cooked it. Our room was equiped with microwave ,toaster crockery etc.so we enjoyed sitting on our balcony for breakfast and other meals when we felt like doing that after a busy day.It was very quiet. Location, staff friendly, serviced villas, free wi fi, beautiful tropical surrounds. Clean comfortable villas. Quiet area even though it's only around the corner from the city centre. The buffet breakfasts were excellent, worth every bit of the $20 per head, the pool was great! We stayed in a budget room, so I cant comment on their top class accommodation!. Very relaxed atmosphere, the pool, close to all Darwin has to offer, the pool, the greenery made it feel like an oasis, the pool, friendly staff. Oh, and we loved the pool. We loved the resort style atmosphere, easy access to Main Street food/cafes, transport. Very relaxing, staff extremely helpful & friendly. Would definitely stay again. we liked the location we liked how close it is to main shopping area we liked the staff we loved the pool we would stay there again. It was in a fantastic location, right on the waterfront and close to shops and restaurants. It was also very clean and comfortable. The facilities and staff were excellent. Our Duplex Villa was the best accomodation on our trip. We stayed at six different Hotels. Nice swimming pool and lots of plants all over the place! Rooms we had were quite basic but clean and did the job. Friendly staff. We loved the location of the hotel in Darwin and also the location of our room within the resort - close to pool and ground floor. I loved the size of the room, the facilities were perfect, staff were so friendly and helpful, couldn't really fault anything!!. we had a lovely time and i must say the whole site was just beautiful thankyou palms city resort we would love to stay again. Convenience to CBD, Quality surrounds and cabins. and we had considerate neighbours which made our very short stay good. Villa,s had very good veranda,s for sitting outside. loved the fact that it was not like A hotel or motel, the garden design and just very central to everything. The resort had a tropical feel to it and the pool area was lovely. It was close to most things in the city. Beautiful surroundings, relaxed atmosphere, close to shops, nightclubs, esplanade a convenient place to be. The resort was close to all amenities especially for travellers who did not have vehicle transport. The grounds and landscaping, including pool, were very lush and tropical. The location was great. Not much parking available if you have a car, but onstreet outside is free from 5.00pm to 8.00am. No free wifi. A fairly expensive ($20) breakfast where the kitchen could not keep up with demand. Noise at night from Mitchell St. But that is no fault of Palm city Resort, just unfortunate that loud noise is allowed so late at night.Got used to it after a few nights. Ran out of ice available to patrons (in laundry room) and noted it wasn't checked regularly as we checked two days after no ice and still not available. Pub Noise Pub Noise Pub Noise Pub Noise!!!!!!!!!!!! Although booked many months ago got stuck for first night in room 210 - worst site for pub noise and movement in and out of rear gate and no privacy!. Pub Noise seems to have got worse (3rd stay) - went on till 5.00am Sunday. Love the resort but the noise at night is almost enough to put me off coming or recommending it to anyone else. Sorry. Absolutely nothing. The room was small with only 1 chair, a queen bed and a single bed, nowhere for 2 people to sit unless you went outside too the table and 2 chairs provided. Not one thing. nothing. That I didn't get to stay longer!. Nothing really... there was absolutely nothing we did not like about the resort - we had a very enjoyable stay. The fact that unfortunately we arrived rather sick from the cruise ship Balmoral, and had to change our 4 day stay, to overnight and fly home to our doctors, where we have been diagnosed with 1 of following, Pneumnoia, Bronchitis, Legionella. We are still both very sick, we will sometime make it back to Darwin, having been there in July 1967!!!! And we will come to Palms Resort again. Did you find a landyard with case keys on it in the room after we vacated???. Very small room, lack of space for the price Rooms were tidied everyday but not cleaned very often. Duplex Villa lacked space. Could be expensive in the dry season like the rest of Darwin. Room was really small, found it difficult to even make a cup of tea. be warned midges are rampant and cause nasty bites that itch for days. the outer executive villas are ok for probably over night, but the amount of noise that you get from buses and trucks going past, you think they are going to come thru your room they feel so close. we stayed A week and the noise got me down. so iff you are staying longer, the inner circle would be much better. was very tired after that week. villa 203. The room was pretty standard but really good value. We could not get wi-fi access until we sought help at front desk. Apparently, for iphone and ipad users, its very difficult to get wi-fi access. Having a password for each device and special steps to get access adds to the complexity especially if you are in a rush. A small safe in the room would have been a good idea. Trainee desk clerk was a backpacker and did not know anything about the Darwin region. Breakfast too expensive. My room was just adjacent to a transformer room, terribly noisy. The room is TOO small and there is nowhere to sit in comfort - only the bed and the TV is at a ridiculous height. Only way to view is lie on the bed which is not good for one's back or neck!!!. Breakfast needs to be improved, buffet style was a bit stale some days. units were tiny and felt they were not private enough. TV was a little dodgey... We felt the breakfast option was fairly ordinary. The bedroom/kitchen was small. Bit noisy at night from nearby bars. Noise from nearby hotel.
