The Darwin Central Hotel is perfectly situated, close to retaurants, tourist venues and public transportantion. My room was clean, quiet, attractive, and well-air-conditioned. The breakfast was wonderful each morning. In particular, the hotel front desk staff was superb. They responded to my every inquiry with good humor, good information, and with perfect professionalism. If I'm ever back in Darwin, I'll be sure to stay here again.
all reviews » Conveniently located, right in the city. Very attentive and supportive staff. Spacious rooms (with even spaciour bathrooms), well maintained, tastefully furnished and super clean. Lot's of restaurants, cafes and shops in walking distance. We stayed there the first night of our trip after arriving in Darwin, but decided to stay a night longer as we liked it so much. Highly recommended!. Great, friendly staff who are always willing to help and answer any questions. Rooms are well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The Hotel is very central to the Darwin CBD, and an easy walk to the wharf precinct, Esplanade and tour facilities. There are many quality (and also budget) dining options nearby. Supermarkets are less than 5 minutes away for that last minute necessity. We checked in late and checked out at 7 am because we went on a tour but we were able to leave our luggage and when we returned as our flight did not leave until 1.40 am we were able to have a shower and hang in the pool area and then the comfort of the lounge near the lobby until we departed. Good central location as the name says. Close to shops and all malls and cafés, pubs. I walked to the conference centre daily with no problems. I had a little kitchen and microwave and that was great for breakfasts and snacks. The rooms was espacious and confortable. It has laundry which is quit usufull after visiting Kakadu. The relation between price and quality was very good specially in Darwin, a very expensive city for loge. The Kitchen Staff especially the Chef and the Young Receptionist (originally from Ballarat Victoria?) were excellent in every way they offered their services. They went out of their way to help others. I really liked the staff a lot. They were always very friendly and helpful. Since we arrived very early we could enjoy the pool area with showers before getting our room. That was great!. We arrived very late and left the next morning but staff were helpful and our short stay was a pleasant experience. Central location very good for longer stay, close to amenities. Great value for hotels in Darwin. We looked at others for the same price and were not nearly as nice. The staff was kind and helpful, and the rooms were nice and modern. Location was perfect, room size was perfect, amenities were perfect and full merit to the cleaning staff that do a fantastic job keeping it clean AAA+++. It was very convenient to the central city. I didn't have a good view from my window but this was a small point. Having to go to reception to buy soap powder for the laundry - coin operated soap dispenser in the laundry would have been a better option. Pillows were high and hard - a soft option would have been nice. A full-sized blanket rather than a small one would have been nice for those of us who want something extra on the bed at night. On arrival I enquired re breakfast as we were departing early and was told about room service but not about the buffet breakfast which we would have had time to enjoy. The room had a window that was partially blocked by another wall. But was only a small detail. Well, I missed some ham and cheese in the breakfast buffe. That was pretty much it!. Not there long enough to dislike anything. That Our room didn't get made up until after 4 pm each day. All ok. -no fault to find. Air conditioning noise, side street entry. Not enough milk and sugar in the room, we requested more every day. Face washers were not replaced on 2 occasions. We stayed in April 2013, and it seemed like the hotel was brand new and still settling in. Things like there was an on-site restaurant but it wasn't opened yet. If I'm ever back in the area I would definitely go back though. The decor is starting to look a little dated but is still in excellent condition. No complaints!. I had the breakfast one day and it was horrible it was cold and not enjoyable - the hot foods need to be filled more freakwently and kept hot. I was actually going to contact you because they added $16.25 for credit card payment which was not advertised on your site. The total booking was $1,100, but I got charged the extra. the checking out time is 10.30 that is one of the drawbacks and another one is parking in the hotel is also expensive. Access to Wifi. That my daughter who had breakfast with me wasn't able to get pancakes 2 days in a row!. there wasnt anything I didn't like. Nothing really. Not enough car parks. room location as had nosiy airconditioner system just outside the door. had room 403 opposite the lift and noisy air conditioner compressor unit that rattled and was very noisy at night. was disappointed that the dinning room was not open at night. Noise coming up from restaurants below. Lack of car parking. going home. On 7th floor water used to run dry.Also your car park fee for guests was ridiculous.
