It was ideally in a good position for us as we wanted to be in walking distance to Cairns railway Station , & it was only a short walk to the Esplanade with all the restaurants & a nice walk along the Esplanade. Friendly staff, easy access to airport, city centre, and Esplanade. Internet access from the comforts of your room (Australia is a couple of years behind the rest of the world in terms of Wi-Fi and credit card usage).

Very close to the city center, very large room (I was hosted in room 230), close to the shopping center of the city. In kitchette unit, no tea towels, etc. Daily servicing would have been nice as we stayed a week. I enquired about a later checkout. The lady at the counter told me that it was possible as no one was due to have that room on our check out day. I called the morning of the check out to confirm the late checkout, however I was advised there would be a fee involved for an extra 2 hours after check out, even though no one had booked to have the room. Room service food was warm not hot when it arrived at the room. we weren't told about breakfast closing at 9.30am. When we asked at checkin about breakfast and checkout the only times they mentioned was 10.00am. We tried to have breakfast at 9.30 and missed out. It subsequently cost an addition $45 for the three of us to eat elswere when it should have been included at the hotel. When we talked to the lady at checkout her responce was that the girl was new and they would talk to her. Not a thing. When I had to come home. wifi keeps turning off. The rooms could benefit from some refurbishment - decor seemed old and worn out and the carpets were stained. Two lights were broken when we moved in. The freezer was not cold enough. Dated interior, but we didn't book the hotel for the looks. there are a lot of ants in the room and there is no toothbrush and tooth paste. Very basic asked for a room with a balcony but you couldn't get onto it. 1. What looked like a blood stain on carpet in hall way. 2. advertised mini bar not available. not very valueable....the lift very very terrible. The lift were seem old and faukty and carpets were dirty. dirty not worth the money. very late check in Tiny tv Incredibly hard bed Mould in showers Noisy air con (not inverter ac).
