This was my second stay at Astor Apartments and I intend many more. The location is superb for travellers with out a vehicle as it is so close to Central Train Station, the CBD, South Bank and bus departure stations. The Astor Apartments provide excellent, well presented accommodation and apartments have everything you need for a great stay. Views from the balcony over Brisbane are a delight - we loved it and we will return!!.
all reviews » We arrived at almost mid-night hrs all the way from Auckland. The apartment key & room allocated was well arranged and easy to access & directly to our room. On the following day, we realized one of the male staff is really helpful when we asked for an extra bed and the bed was there after we returned to the room. In general, the apartment is really well managed. The place was great, I was not expecting anything like that at all. Very clean, spacious, well set out. The manager was woken at nearly midnight by my arrival (although I thought I was expected, he knew nothing about me), but was still pleasant and courteous. All in all, well impressed and would definitely stay there again. Loved the 2 bedroom family apartment! Heaps of room, full kitchen, great vews and loved the parking under. Excellent! Will certainly stay again and have recommended it to all my Facebook friends! Ps if you ever want to sell the lounge suite give me a ring!. The apartment was a great size, clean and well equipped. the staff are friendly and helpful. In a quiet area, the location is very central, walking distance from Queen Street and a short drive out of town. the onsit parking is a great bonus. Great location and huge apartment. Beautiful view of the city.(We were on the top floor) The kitchen is new and modern; however, the rest of the apartment is a bit older,but has everything you need. Free parking. The apartment was clean an very spacious, and it had everything we needed during our stay and we met one of the lovely residences, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cheers. Great location, huge appartment and great facilities. Spend an afternoon in the pool, lots of time on the balcony and only a few minutes valk to town center. Would definitely stay again! And free parking!. We liked the size of the apartment, very spacious and roomy. We found it to be very quiet and convenient to the CBD. Other than some stains on the carpet in the lounge area, the apartment was very clean. The comfort and nearness to Queen street and railway. The closeness to most points of interest like botanical gardens Southbank cultural centre etc .wich were only acheap taxi fare away. The beds were not very comfortable, nor the bedspread - it was very heavy. Nothing! Loved it!. The birds crowing early in the morning. Wi fi could have been free? Would have been nice to have a balcony facing the sun - but thats details. There were some large stains on the carpet in the lounge area. Nothing that I canrecall. We did not like the paintings hanging on the wall, this is all but should not be held against them it was a personal taste thing. The pin code entry I was given to gain access upon arrival was not right and we had to contact the after hours number anyway. The doors on the spa bath did not open or close. The ensuite toilet constantly ran noisily. The air conditioner is internal and quite noisy, but very easy to get used to. Pool area being renovated at time of stay but could still swim. Having spent over $2000 on accomdation was disapointing to then have to pay for internet. $150 for 2mb which then didn't work throughout most of the apartment. The whole place needs wi-fi included in booking. we could not get a Wi-Fi signal in our appartement. little bit of mould in the bathroom. That we didn't stay longer!!!. Furnishings were dated and tired; air conditioning was very noisy and didn't function well; security screens did not lock. None really. Perhaps the equipment ie the washing machine and dryer are a bit dated. Otherwise perfect. Leaving Being too rushed to relax and enjoy the accomodation. Only thing i can suggest is new mattresses but hey you get what you pay for. We had to buy and put a dishwasher cleaner solution through the dishwasher as it wasn't very clean. Could smell smoke in the hallway outside our room on occasions. Noisy trucks in the street very early in the morning. Smell in the hall way, smelt wet, musty, sour. Level 7. Double lock on apartment door was VERY difficult. Also, the 'privacy lock' on the main bedroom was on the outside? Weird. Door on ensuite did not fit or close properly. The bathrooms looked like they need a good polish. We thought it had a cooking facility but it was more light cooking - but it was close to the City so we can eat out. beds were a bit firm. The building is quite old but the appartment was clean. They did not have anything to weigh luggage. nothing. There was no microwave in our unit. We could not leave our car in the carpark during the day after we had checked out on the Sunday. There was no fans or air-cons that we could see, also the shower head in room 305 needs to be cleaned or something, not a great flow of water came out of the head. Our apartment was a little tired and smaller compared to other family members who were staying on the 6Th floor. The showers in the room were terrible, probably the worst I've ever experienced. There was hardly any water flowing and it was difficult to get the water temperature right. Could not connect to the internet easily. Noisy bird at 4am both mornings - and last time I stayed here. Not the hotels fault - not sure if the windows are thick enough to block out noise?. Unfortunately we didn't get a working air conditioner in room 505 which was very disappointing. Slow action taken to attend and rectify problems. Sofa run down.
