My partner and I got upgraded to a honeymoon suite for free due to an issue with a double booking, and the room was lovely. Clean, modern, and a beautiful spa. The balcony also offered us a nice view of the hills. The girls at the front desk were very polite and professional. A standout :). The pool and spa facilities were quite good. Staff were friendly. The bathroom was well appointed. Both the bar and restaurant were comfortable, and service was excellent.
all reviews » The bed and linen are fabulous. I can't fault the room. Location is great for city - easy walk to Chinatown, Her Majesty's Theatre etc. Everything suited our requirements . We were That pleased that we have already booked for another stay in two months. Excellent all round, the room, service, restaurant & café and especially the staff all very friendly !. Position and general presentation and fixtures and furnishings. Price was good too. 24 hr reception desk especially when arriving late from an oversea trip. That is just the worst thing when it comes to customer service!. Having to park up South Terrace due to party on premises all park spots full had to move car after 1 am when spot became vacant - not happy!!. Towels too small. Noise from elevator and wind howling under balcony door. The room stunk of tobacco smoke...yes someone before had smoked in the room! Had the door open for about 3 hrs to clean the air, but then got cold so closed door re-opened early in the morning. Not Good ! Otherwise all was excellent. Ac in room.did not cool the room. The lounge was too small and the movie channels didn't have well reception. The cold air from outside managed to seep through the gaps from the balcony door, as well as we could hear the wind whistling through. Could not access the free WiFi.. location is busy - too close to main road and no double glazing on windows. We paid extra to get an upgrade into a room that stunk of cigarette smoke and did not have a balcony as stated in upgrade. Lucky they were apologetic and swapped our room when we told them . Cost of breakfast is a total rip off. There were no bath robes and the spa needed to be cleaned a little better there was mould staning in the grout & the toilet needed to have the lid put on properly (witch I did). I booked a non smoking room and all I could smell all night was stale smoke. Also I waiting for 20 minutes at the front counter to check in and there was no one there. 2 other people who were staying at the hotel also wanted help but got sick of waiting and said that they would come back. Lack of basic maintenance. The housekeeper should have said the room needed it, as things were obviously broken. The alarm clock which we guess was set from the previous guest was going off when we first arrived, the TV didn't work & there was no toilet paper. It didn't really look as if it had been properly cleaned prior to us arriving. Reverse cycle heater did not work and staff could not fix until the next day so room was cold for sleeping in. Definitely not value for money. Advertisements of place look much better than they are. Tv didn't work with all channels No tv guide. Bathroom was dirty. Noisey couldn't sleep. Food wasn't very nice. small room. disorganised - we were put in a room that in no way fitted the description of what we had booked and paid for. The counter staff present when we arrived were no help at all. The noise from the lift ( all night) Front office staff missing from desk, no greeting, our room was very dusty, we thought the pictures on the wall were covered with non glare glass but it was dust. Bath under shower was not level, making it a hazard for the elderly and those witha handicap. No room in car park. Rubbish bin in room 1/2 full of another guest rubbish. Breakfast priced nearly twice the price of advertised through letsbookhotel.com. Not breakfast menu in room hot water not hot pillow very soft,( uncomfortable) no spare ones air conditioner poor cooling. Surcharge on using MasterCard. Tv outdated, poor reception. That I sustained a injury in the spa. Rediculus price room old and mould in bathroom surcharge on ALL credit cards room rate $328 + surcharge for 1 night. Do not meet my bed request. The car park is short. Arrived at 2.30pm,room not ready.Skyline restaurant not available for dinner.At $209.00 a night i did not appreciate view of Carpark. Room is quite dated and furnishings are very worn. We didn't get much sleep due to very noisy aircon unit near our room. the room key never worked The bed was uncomfortable and it leant into the middle so me and my wife would hit into each other during the night. Food was over priced and wasn't very good quality Breakfast was dried and stale so not very happy. dirty mismatched rooms unclean smelly definitely NOT renovated.
