I found the hotel to be well presented despite reading reviews of the rooms being dated. I also had a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the park which was exceptionally quiet despite reading reviews about noise. Great breakfast with a very good range of options. Helpful and pleasant staff. We had an internal room & although there was no natural light, it was silent so we slept brilliantly. It was a good size and had everything you would expect. The location is great: very central and it is easy to walk to all the attractions of the city.

Very close to the railway (5 min max. walking) and to the city center (10 min walking). Kitchen with microwave oven and tables. The cutlery can be borrowed from the bar opposite to the kitchen.
The rooms are clean and the shared bathrooms are most of the times clean (mostly depending on the other guests which are sharing the bathrooms with you).
The room had an electrical heating system, which was very good.

Rooms are clean and bright. Travelled with two older kids the space and
additional beds are adequate.
Location provides views of of the Fjords and next to a small river. Best if you drove as public transport are limited.
Breakfast is generous for Norwegian standard and served in house restaurant which also serve Thai food.
Value considering Norwegian prices is good.

First of all I loved the staff. Everybody, starting from the reception through the dining room and cleaning staff were friendly, smiling and caring.

1. breakfast - very nice buffet food including ham, bacon, fish, vegetables, toast, biscuit, milk, yogurt, cereals, caviar, cheese, fruit, orange juice and coffee, and etc.
2. staff - very kind and helpful - they prepared the breakfast take-away including sandwiches,strawberry jam and orange juice for me as i need to departure around 6:45am which is earlier than the breakfast time

It was a really nice apartment and we enjoyed it all very much. We had our own floor with private bath, kitchen and living room, even free wifi, a laptop and tv! Laptop is attached to the tv which is really nice, you can watch whatever you want online. Internet works fine :) All the locks on the doors are working. The staircase is steep but fine.

Alot of thought has gone into the needs of a traveller in an expensive country. Our apartment had a full kitchen, was spacious, separate bedroom & a computer with a portable keyboard & mouse that was hooked up to the flat screen tv. We could watch streamed movies & had internet access. We were on the ground floor. Was very quiet despite people upstairs.
