The location of La Calcina is fantastic - Overlooking the Giudecca canal, in a quiet neighbourhood, watertaxi stop on your doorstep and within an easy walking distance of St Marks Square. The staff were friendly and welcoming, good standard of accommodation and well placed for the main sights. Easy to find and lovely restaurant downstairs. - Central location, helpful staff, nice interior decor relevant to the surrounding city, good breakfast, really good shower, free wi-fi that worked.

We loved that it was so easy to get to and from the Realto Bridge for arrivals and departures and for additional day trips... It was wonderful to be able to walk to and fro to San Marco's Square and despite the close proximity, the price was very reasonable.

The staff could not do enough for us and treated us like silk worms. Nothing was a problem. Directions, hints, tips and must see all explained thoroughly. I was nervous about getting from the airport on our own, but the directions were very clear and the hotel easy to find. The location was perfect between the Rialto and St Marco square-we couldn't have picked better! Very impressed with how friendly the staff are and how welcomed we felt. The best hotel I've been in Italy. No doubt. Loved the hotel, loved the staff, loved our room. It even had a small and unexpected jacuzzi. It was further away then what was promised on bookings.com , not a problem though, since there was a small vaporino shuttle running whenever we need it to - even late at night!! Would stay there again and again.
