The owners, Mariano and Giusy were such a delight and very
hospitable...The property was very well taken care of and not so fancy
but just right. We even got to enjoy some honey that Marino made and try
a bit of tuna he had caught.

The setting is breathtaking and the staff is amazingly attentive. We had dinner there and it was one of our best meals in two weeks. - a beautiful hotel with some wonderful antique pieces in a fresh and spacious interior.the staff were very helpful and provided us with dinner although we arrived after serving time.lovely gardens.

We loved everything about this place. The apartment itself was spacious and clean; the balcony, looking out over the sassi and the Duomo, was fabulous and perfect for an afternoon aperitivo. The cafe/bar downstairs was great and run by a friendly woman. Best of all were Aldo and Rosa... the best hosts ever! Our host Sylvia was very welcoming and when we got lost driving into
Matera she came to get us in her car. The room was large with tasteful
furnishings, two big windows and an elegant bathroom. The location was
excellent and being behind a church with a large tower was easy to find

This is one of the best BB's we ever stayed. The room was very convenient, quiet and nicely decorated. The location is just perfect in the heart of Matera with a walking distance to all interesting places, but also 10 minutes walk to the

We absolutely loved our stay at La Forresteria. We spent one night here and the staff was so warm and kind! We had a wonderful 4-course meal in the evening for a good price in a dining room that was so beautiful and genuine. Our hosts are fantastic people – they speak very little English but have
a way of making everybody feel at home in their lovely property which
has been in their family for many years and is lovingly cared for. The
swimming pool is a good size and very clean. The food is very Italian

Our stay was part of a trip that started with taking a ferry from Vlora, Albania to Brindisi, Italy and we then drove to Taverna Centomani. The ship left very late and so we did not arrive until 1:00 am. Our GPS was not very accurate and we called Maria. She drove to where we were and showed us the way.

A small family-run B&B with an excellent location in the Sassi (Barisani), very clean and had everything I needed. For me, staying here made a real difference to my visit. Location was increadible, in the center of the sass area. Really nice, clean and spacious room, it's more like a little appartment. You have your own kitchen, bathroom etc. You can park (for free) your car in front of the B&B. In the center you'll not need the car anymore. -

We were a group of friends from England, Norway and Sweden. We took this trip together from Calabria.
The accommodation was close to the Sassi cave houses and everything was walkable from the B&B - restaurants and shops, the caves and baroque churches.
Good breakfast, well converted and comfortable rooms. Amazing views from the top terrace. -

it was somewhat hard to find but owner was very helpful with everything including taking us to a free parking place. breakfast was very nice with home made cakes. location is very convenient. the rooms are in the sassi style it was an unusual experience. but it should be stressed in the description of the place.

This hotel was like staying in another world from centuries past. It was
amazing each room situated in what seemed was stone cliffsides. The view
from both windows looked out on the ancient city. All sites were within
walking distance. The manager spoke English and gave many ideas with
walking map to find them. You don't have to be interested in Italian
history to thoroughly enjoy this hotel. Breakfast was wonderful with all
