Great location and close to restaurants for dinner. There is one attached to the hotel which makes it convenient but if you want something other than seafood you may have to find another place to eat. Breakfast was included and it was a great way to start the day. The town of Maratea is close by as well as other sites that are quite and beautiful. Would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a spot a little off the beaten path.

Very hospitable hosts, very good accommodation across the street from their restaurant, where excellent breakfasts were served. It was a good experience to stay in the centre of Matera.

This hotel was like staying in another world from centuries past. It was
amazing each room situated in what seemed was stone cliffsides. The view
from both windows looked out on the ancient city. All sites were within
walking distance. The manager spoke English and gave many ideas with
walking map to find them. You don't have to be interested in Italian
history to thoroughly enjoy this hotel. Breakfast was wonderful with all

The owner, Roberto, went out of his way to be accommodating. He obviously takes a lot of pride in his hotel, which just opened in January. 1) The gardens and pool area were fabulous and spotlessly maintained.
2) The hotel itself is beautiful and, again, spotless.
3) Our room was elegant and nicely furnished. It was a bit small (and we requested a sea view and didn't get one) but it was comfortable and had mod cons in working order.

We enjoyed this spot immensely. It was September, and we were the only
guests. The two staff that served us were fantastic. As mentioned on
other reviews, they treated us the same. This village is amazing, as are
the views. From our room we could see the mountains but not the rest of
the village. -
