  We stayed 3 nights at this delightful guest house set in the peaceful surroundings of Near Sawrey. Our hosts were very welcoming without being over bearing. The double room with en-suite facilities was spotless with a beautiful view over the wonderful countryside. A stone throw away from a lovely quaint pub/restaurant and near to Beatrix Potter's... was die leute sagen » Hill Top farm. Breakfast was excellent with great choice. There are lovely walks and we would recommend a gentle 20 mins. walk up to the beautiful l - Very pretty cosy cottage .Nice touch when were asked if we would like a cup of tea lovely home made scones arrived plus tea on day 1 and delicious lemon drizzle cake on day 2.Breakfasts were yummy plenty of choice just for starters and the full" Cumbrian Breakfast" and Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs, real tea in a teapot and ground coffee well what more can you say but excellent . Bedrooms lovely and warm and lots of nice touches .Definitely stay again .

  Very clean and recently refurbished. Staff veryt friendly and helpful. We stayed for 2 days and had our Dinner in the hotel on both days. (there is no where else to eat in the immdiate vicinity. We are often reluctant to try new places but this one was lovely very homely. Will recommend this one to anyone wanting a break without th - Lovely country inn with a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The public areas have a local, historic feel e.g. the downstairs bar still has the old stalls from horse drawn days; charming. The staff are friendly and efficient, the bar has a great selection of local beers and ales and the food is superb. Our room, while small, was extremely well appointed and comfortable, excellent en suite facilities with a super powerful shower, bliss. My wife and I had a wonderful time and will definitely go a

  We loved our stay at The Sun Inn! Alex and his staff made us feel like part of the crowd with their easy-going professionalism and friendly approach. Climbing the stairway to our room above the common rooms gave us a good feel for how life was in the early 19th century when The Sun Inn was constructed. My mate was really taken with the room, calling it his Hobbi - Lovely well thought out room decor wise with lots of character and everything you'd expect - twinnings tea & tea making facilities, extra comfortable bed, a decent hairdryer and good hot & roomy power shower. Staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable (cheesecake at 10:30pm and putting any sports onto the tv) and created a great laid back atmosphere. Food was lovely, both breakfast and evening meals with a decent range of choice and fresh home cooked

  Just returned from a two night stay in the 4 poster bedroom, everything was perfect, the house and our room had so much charm and character, our room was large but cosy, the bathroom was just as big, it was perfect. The breakfast was top notch, friendly owners, very clean and tidy, it had everything we needed and more, if there is any thing you ha... was die leute sagen » ve forgot it will be in your room. 2 minutes walk down the lane to the little village where you will find a beautiful church, 4 pubs, co-op. Beautiful - Classic Lake district countryside setting. Access to picturesque, easy, 3 mile walk to Conistion Lake through fields and woods. 3 minute walk to beautiful Hawkshead village or 5 minutes through the back of the 14th century church yard. The B&B has a back garden with tables and chairs for an evening glass of wine. Each room has a Fabulous hot shower with pressure that no other English shower system could boast. Great breakfast. Great all round value.

  Staff was really friendly, breakfast was fantastic, saved us money fishing at esthwaite waters by giving us fishing permits, no restrictions on getting back to the bnb in the evening like other places, therefore could have few quiet drinks / relaxing without having to worry about getting taxi back to hawkeshead, brilliant location - all in all it'... was die leute sagen » s was a cheap weekend in a brilliant location and very friendly staff. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. - Wonderful warm reception. Rosemary (host) even offered to do our laundry for us in their machines! Authentic old world charm. Warm rooms, comfy beds, delicious breakfasts. Ann Tyson's is in a beautiful historic village. The accomodation is hard to find so I would suggest arriving in daylight and asking for directions. Everyone is happy to assist.

  We stayed in a camping pod for the first time for two nights, the pod was clean, and surprisingly spacious! Enough room for the airbed and bags etc. There was a small heater, lamp and 2 camping chairs. The toilets and showers were clean. One evening we stayed at the hostel and had a 3 course meal, which was tasty and good value. The lounge area... was die leute sagen » was typical YHA and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Only a 15 min walk into hawkshead where there is a couple of pubs and a few shops - We stayed in one of the "pods". It had lighting and heating and was very cosy to stay in. Would recommend it to anyone that is wanting to camp especially if it's getting cold out. The staff were very helpful and they have a drying room for all your wet gear. If your going to the Lake District stay here. Don't miss hard knott pass for amazing views too. It's narrow for 2 cars but it's worth the climb.

Hot showers, cozy bed, great WIFI, quiet and restful, close to Near Sawrey, Beatrix Potter and the Tower Arms pub. Host was gracious, accommodating, witty and helpful. Dinner was excellent; breakfast beautifully prepared. The croissants were the best ever.
