  Best clean and homely environment while retaining the willingness of the building. We were made very welcome upon arrival and found everybody concerned to be friendly, cheerful and excellent hosts. Breakfast was delicious with full English and the addition of details, fruit and yoghurt. The service was great with offers of more tea and toast. Only... was die leute sagen » spent one day and night but felt very comfortable and valued as a guest. - The position is just a short canal side walk to the city centre, so is great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and they have onsite parking. It is positioned on the corner of a busy road so entry and exit can be tricky. My room was on the front looking over the road, so there was traffic noise which tapered off into the evening. Despite that I slept soundly. I would certainly stay there again.

  I have stayed in the Cathedral on many occasions in the past. The first time, some years ago prior to its refit and change of ownership was a real "spit and sawdust" affair. The Cathedral has been transformed since its refit. The owner Tony is an absolute gentleman and nothing is too much trouble for him. Our room was wonderful, cosy and stylish, we had all the facilities and a nice view from the window. Service was very good and staff was absolutely friendly and charming. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. They have really nice bar and lobby is pleasant to sit in. Finally, the location in the very heart of Salisbury is just perfect.

  Room was very clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and a beautiful view. The owner was pleasant and helpful (allowed me to leave my backpack after checkout time on my last day, since I had an evening train). Within easy walking distance (less than a mile) of the town center and train station. I also appreciated the addition of a teapot to the usual teamaking facilities. - This is a lovely little hotel with a very warm and cosy atmosphere. Terry is a friendly and polite host who cares for his guests very much (for example: offers an umbrella when it rains). Both my room and the bathroom were spotless clean. I really enjoyed my stay at the White Lodge very much, and I will recommend this hotel to my friends. Also, I would love to stay there again next time, if possible...

I've stayed here many times and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. I like the town very much and find it a useful location when visiting my daughter near Xmas. I really hate ideal of it being turned into flats and worse, more buildings - Amazing, great atmosphere, beautiful garden with a huge tree in front of the house... I was only looking for a cheap and modest accomodation for only one night but I was really pleased by the tranquility of the place - it was a very nice place to stay! The staff was also very friendly, the bedding was perfectly clean, so if someone doesn't mind the shared facilities I would highly recommend the place.
