Fantastic breakfast which was cooked to order as given a menu sheet to choose options the night before. Informative folder in the room full of useful information about the local area such as directions, things to do and restaurants etc. Well stocked tea tray in room and owners very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! Private parking at the back of the house (free), is a bonus. We both rate Ascot House as being as good

I stayed here with my mother who is 71 for a shopping weekend. We had a family room that was lovely.
First class B&B. Lovely genuine and friendly hosts. We can honestly say the breakfast was the best we have ever had in any B&B or hotel.Very very clean and comfortable rooms, hosts were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended !!!!! Easy 5 stars *****

I would recommend this hotel. As a small hotel there is no lift so if you have mobility issues this may not be a suitable hotel for you.

Although we booked a studio apartment we were surprised that there was a fair amount of space in the apartment itself. Plenty of crockery etc., and some tea bags, water and soft drinks which were a bonus. Ideal if you don't like the idea of having huge breakfasts at a B & B or hotel. We would definitely book these apartments again. Very central to the Town.

It was so comfortable, I could have stayed in it all day every day. And that would have been a complete waste of a great holiday beak in a great little guest house. We decided on Arden House after reading other reviews on letsbookhotel.com. We were not disappointed. Beverley was a lovely friendly host and gave us all relevant information when we arrived to make our stay most enjoyable. We could not fault the room, food or the other people who were staying there as we made us of the excellent honesty bar after we returned from our nights out in Harrogate. A lovely and enjoyable experience all round.

We stayed here for the weekend with friends for a walking break. We found the rooms to be comfortable and clean and the staff were very friendly who went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was excellent. My only 'complaint' was they ran out of the lamb which we were all looking forward to after walking 15 miles :o( However, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we chose. My cousin and I stayed 3 nights at the Wharncliffe and we loved everything we encountered - the proprietors were lovely, and their keenness when it came to security was a plus. There was ample choice of both hot and cold items in the delicious breakfasts. Everything had been chosen discerningly from the quality of the sausages and jams to the welcoming sweets/chocolates in the rooms on the hospitality tray. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with superb views over the sea.

Andy and Tracey were the most delightful, welcoming hosts. They were also very professional and sociable - without becoming intrusive. The B&B is located in an excellent location; not too near, but not too far from the town centre. The room was just perfect, comfortable and clean. The B&B was quiet and very tidy. Above all, the breakfasts were to die for: plenty of choice and beautifully presented.

The Guy Fawkes Inn is such a great place, the location is spot-on for a stay in York, the place is steeped in history and the rustic charm of the inn is amazing, you feel like you've travelled back in time once you step through the door, but in a good way :)
