  As sooon as you walked in, you felt as if you were walking into somebody's home. There was a lovely fire in the grate and it just felt very welcoming. The lady on reception was welcoming and once we had been shown to our room, you just knew the time spent at the hotel would be enjoyable. The food was very enjoyable and there was a good selection an... was die leute sagen » d you really couldn't fault anything at all. - We've stayed in some great hotels in the past, but nothing can surpass our weekend at the Mallyan Spout. The whole hotel was a pleasure, from: the log fire and comfy sofas to mulled wine on tap in the bar, really friendly staff to the warmth and atmosphere throughout, and from some of the most delicious food we've ever tasted to the comfiest hotel bed we've slept in - absolutely wonderful!

  One of the most peaceful hotels we have ever stayed in, set in rural North Yorkshire on the edge of the North York Moors, with a large and quiet garden. We received a friendly welcome and were well looked after during our stay. The food was very good, and appeared to have been fresh and locally sourced, but fell a little short of gourmet. - The food was excellent. Peaceful and quiet. Location wonderful - could walk out onto Rosedale Moor, very convenient. The visit to Lastingham Church and famous crypt was superb.

  The Hotel is placed very convineantly, close to the train station, on the river front and on the door step of the York Dungeons and York centre. Beautiful, traditional room with lovely big bed, lovely view of the river from the room.
