  The staff were exceptional in every manner. Each one we spoke to were very polite and accomodating, especially when booking out as we were leaving at 6am the next morning and they prepared a fantastic breakfast which was delivered 30mins before we departed at 5:30am.   We stayed in the new Silver Suite - it was extremely comfortable with a most beautiful view across the water. Needless to say, but the food was magnificently presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were exceptionally courteous and delightfully friendly. You felt you were staying with friends. We had originally booked for two nights but had to leave after just one night due to family reasons - hotel staff were very kind in this regard. Excellent breakfast.

  The owners were both extremely helpful and friendly. We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. Our room was just as the owner described and had views to die for. The food was very good, speedily prepared and well presented. The hotel location is superb and is quiet, but only 5 minutes from main roads leading to Silverdale, the Lakes and t - Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

  Excellent. The Staff were helpful and pleasant at all times. The Hotel was spotlessly clean, our room light and airy. - Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Friendly staff and a lovely room with a fantastic view. No complaints!

  Booked through letsbookhotel.com but on arrival we found out that letsbookhotel.com did not forward our details and therefore found that there were no rooms available. The owner and manager went out of his way to find us a local B&B for the first night and luckily had a delux room available for our second night.   A return visit for 3 nights, after a 16 year gap! The hotel has changed hands since then and is almost unrecognisable from the previous visit. We had a room with a colourful garden view and enjoyed 3 peaceful nights sleep. Lovely grounds overlooking Lake Windermere and hills beyond, 2 comfortable lounges, a lovely outside terrace and large conserv... was die leute sagen » atory with large panoramic windows used as a dining area for all meals. The food and service was excellent. Plenty of choice for the self service buff - I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Nothing was an issue, and with the perfect weather it was pleasant to sit outside in the garden and enjoy a view of Lake Windermere. Service was

  this was our first visit to the lamplighter we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff we arrived with our 2 cavalier dogs who were made a big fuss of we also were asked if we wanted to eat in a separate room so the dogs could be with us which we declined as they are more than happy to stay in their sleeping crate .the breakfas... was die leute sagen » t was superb as were the meals in the restaurant at night initially we were only going to eat in there one night but it was so good we ate every nig - The innkeepers were charming! The hotels rooms newly decorated and the kingsize beds very comfortable with lovely pillows. The breakfast was also particularly delicious, with fresh juices, Greek yogurt with berry compote for example. They accommodated well for special vegetarian requests, even going out for veggie sausage for us for our second day's breakfast. Well done and thank you for a fantastic stay! Mr and Mrs Ryan

  We were greeted by a very friendly man who couldn't do enough for us. He allowed us into our room much earlier than usual as we wanted to get ready for a wedding nearby. The room was lovely, clean and had all the necessary bits and bobs we needed (including a hand-held magnifying mirror!). Would recommend this hotel to others. - A lovely inn with good, clean rooms and a good sized ensuite bathroom ..and, at times, a working TV... sinceours didn't work!. However, everybody pulled out all the stops to get the TV in working order; alas, it was not to be. We were offered free drinks as compensation in the pub, which we appreciated very much. Other than this amusing story, we had a great time in this lovely place and would definitely go back!
