  The owners were both extremely helpful and friendly. We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. Our room was just as the owner described and had views to die for. The food was very good, speedily prepared and well presented. The hotel location is superb and is quiet, but only 5 minutes from main roads leading to Silverdale, the Lakes and t - Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

  We were greeted by a very friendly man who couldn't do enough for us. He allowed us into our room much earlier than usual as we wanted to get ready for a wedding nearby. The room was lovely, clean and had all the necessary bits and bobs we needed (including a hand-held magnifying mirror!). Would recommend this hotel to others. - A lovely inn with good, clean rooms and a good sized ensuite bathroom ..and, at times, a working TV... sinceours didn't work!. However, everybody pulled out all the stops to get the TV in working order; alas, it was not to be. We were offered free drinks as compensation in the pub, which we appreciated very much. Other than this amusing story, we had a great time in this lovely place and would definitely go back!

  We found this delightful place very near to the village center. The owner and her daughter were extremely polite, caring and helpful, on our arrival they had provided us with loads of guides and plenty of info for our hiking trip across and around the lakes. Loved the 'honesty box/drawer', where you were asked to leave 50 pence for any mineral water bot - We had room 3 with the 4 poster bed, it was soooooo comfortable! Diane the b&b owner was very hospitable, she tailored our stay to meet our needs, my friend left her electric cigarette charger at home so Diane let us use her personal computer to charge it. Also, when we got there Diane had left leaflets and a map on our bed, this helped so much during our stay. The breakfast was nice and the location is perfect, a 5 minute walk in to the village of windemere and a 20 minute walk to bowness

We reached very late so he passed us beforehand the door-code to get-in, told us exacly where we could park and left the guest parking ticket with date entered for each zone we could park. We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.
