A very warm welcome when I arrived.
Home made Lemon cake was a delicious treat after an 8 hour journey.
Room was lovely and the bed was extremely big and comfortable with top quality bed linen.
Breakfast was fantastic - lots of organic/free range items which was a pleasure and the fresh fruit salad and freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. Bank house is a beautiful period property and the owners have gone to great lengths to get the decor and furnishings just right. The food was outstanding, we class ourselves as 'foodies' and were certainly not disappointed, the menu was extensive and the fresh fruit salad on your table was a lovely addition. The owners are very friendly, helpful people who go to great lengths to make your stay as pleasurable as possible, from the homemade bread and cakes to being just lovely people. Would recom.
very clean and friendly and well appointed. The facilities are great and rooms very comfortable. This is a relatively small place but no expense is spared on keeping the guests happy. This includes an excellent breakfast with many choices of quality local food, to travel guide information on the local area. Highly recommended as I have stayed in other hotels and B&B's in Penrith and this is the best by far.
Our room was beautifully furnished and every last detail was of high
quality, down to the lovely toiletries supplied. The owners were very
helpful and breakfast in the delightful dining room (with superb views)
was excellent. The menu was extensive and cooked to order. The fresh
fruit salad was delicious an excellent range of quality cereals was
provided. A great place to stay!.
Lovely house with friendly owners. Beautiful room looking out over garden with extensive views of Penrith and Lake District. Everything we needed was in the well furnished room, including good tea/coffee facilities with fresh milk ( so much nicer than UHT) and a bottle of drinking water. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Lovely original furnishings with a comfy bed. The owners went out of their way to help us and accommodated 2 extra people in our party. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Nothing really- just that we couldn't stay longer. Two nights not enough.
The location was a bit misleading. We thought that we would be closer to the town center. It's a bit of a walk for a mature couple!.
No off road parking.
No bedside table on one side of bed (room 4). Seems a small point but it means there is no where to put glasses, phone etc or place a bedside-lamp Room quite dark - could not read at night.
Along a steep hill above the town. There were no house numbers, only names, several of which started with the word, "Bank." Parking was on the street.
You'd have a job to find anything to complain about.
