Thanks for a great experience in Edinburgh. The Randolph Mackensie
really did prove to be one of the highlights of the trip. I've been
apprehensive of guest houses but this place has removed any doubts for
the future. Firstly, David the manager of the place is great, from day
one he was there for any queries right up to arrival and meeting us
nearby to welcome us to Edinburgh. The room itself was spacious (we had
the purple room) with a very cosy bathroom. The location was excellent,

Leading up to our break, David was so helpful, keeping in touch regarding our check in and giving details on how to find the hotel. As we were due to arrive at lunchtime, David arranged an early check in which was really helpful.
The hotel was a lovely surprise - we didn't know what to expect but it was cute & quirky and a fantastic find, we were really happy. The room was modern and nicely decorated, clean & tidy, with all the amenities we needed - tea & coffee, water, iron & i.
David received us with great sympathy. He helped us with our luggages and was very attention during our stay. The hotel is close to the Edinburgh Castle, Pricess St and all you need (restaurants, caffes, etc). Our room was very spacious, there was a good bathroom and a nice view of the city.
Excelent value for money. Large room and bathroom, nice bed linens, comfy bed, nice decor.
The ownwer is very kind and he carried our bags up and downstairs. I made the mistake of taking too much luggage (sorry, David!!).
Travel light and you and the owner will be much happier for it!.
We liked the location so close to main shopping areas, bars etc., We
liked the room which was lovely and cool during warm weather. Quiet even
though close to central Edinburgh. We loved the extra large bed and the
furnishings and the robes and slippers.
The owner and i guess the only staff in one person was very helpful, gave us some very useful tips an allowed us to leave our bags in the room after we checked out what was very nice.
large bathroom, coffee/tea facilities...everything perfect- thank you!.
Perfect location, great and helpful staff, bright and big room, very clean bathroom, tea and coffee facilities. On the arrival we were informed about native Scottish restaurant and Airlink buses nearby. Very close to Waverley and Haymarket stations.
David the manager could not have been more helpful or accommodating. He is the epitome of what a wonderful and courteous manager should be. The room itself was lovely, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely too, great shower!.
The close location to the city centre new and old town, the style of rooms, the staff were helpful, and was absolutely immaculate. Close enough to be in the city in 100m but far enough to be away from the bustle/ noise.
Great staff, someone even met us at the bus stop to take us the the room. Little treats left each day in the room. Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Very clean and quiet.
Lovely apartment, well appointed and nice quality. David very helpful. Location perfect. WiFi fantastic (20mb). The perfect base to explore Edinburgh.

The luxury, cleanliness and comfort of the room. An effort had obviously been made . Very pleased with our stay.
David is super friendly and the place is really cute and spacious. The bed was comfy and they have robes!! :).
The room was perfect, just what we were looking for. Very clean and helpful and friendly service from staff.
Very central, great value for money, huge rooms. Nothing was too much trouble or owner, David.

Very friendly welcome. Great value. Perfect location.
Luxury and clean room with very cute decorate.
Not for us but for any other hotel goers who don't like stairs -
there is a three storey staircase but this didn't hinder our
stay at all.
The stair could be a problem if you have limited mobility.
Walking up and down 3 flights of stairs.
There should be more explanation on how to use and regulate the shower temperature.
A bit far to walk from the Castle and Royal Mile.
Only one small concern the television did not work but not major problem
as was out most of the time.
Just the fact that they don't have a lift but you can deal with it. 60 stairs is not a problem.
Obviously there are a number of steps to climb but they're well advertised in advance and mean you don't have to feel guilty when over indulging in holiday meals out because you've done a little exercise.
Little bit of noise on Friday evening, but nothing unbearable, comes with being so close to the city centre.
Everything was great!.
No lift so beware of a few flights of stairs.
Nothing.
Quite noisy plumbing. Balcony wall blocked what would have been an amazing view.
The parking situation.
No view.
The stairs may be a problem for old, but difficulty is a little bit exaggerated.
Nothing.
absence of any history about the building, very minor detail: would love to know what it used to be etc...
There is about 60 steps and no lift might be a problem for someone older,.
Windows too high with no view
68 stairs with no lift.
There is no elevator.
