  A very old inn, of real character, with an intriguing history and attractive name; a place that has been through a lot in its time, and with a touch of eccentricity that we loved. A genuinely friendly atmosphere with spacious accommodation in a new timber building set apart from the inn. The staff we met knew their stuff and had a sense of belongi... was die leute sagen » ng and they were a delight: not in any way over bearing or going through the motions. The wine and the main meal and breakfast were excellent. - Friendly staff, quiet location, good food (including real chips!), good beer, room 4 was a good size with a beautiful view - wish the weather had been good enough to sit out on the balcony. Quality bed linen, towels and bath robes also quality toiletries. Very clean and lovely bathroom. Real glasses in room and bathroom - not plastic as we got in a more expensive hotel!
