Ask for a room with a water view if you can!

  The value and quality of our "apartment" was better than most of the best hotels we have stayed at around the world. We had the top floor with the balcony/patio overlooking the Sea of Marmara and our neighborhood. Very romantic and very beautiful. The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
