  The reception on our arrival was friendly and helpful. Over the last four years we have stayed at several B&Bs, Hotels/Guest Houses in South Africa and the De Hoek rates as one of our best and most enjoyable places. Check-in was incredibly efficient -- we were in our room within about 45 seconds. The location in downtown Stellenbosch is fantastic -- across the street from a beautiful church and just one block from dozens of cafes and restaurants. And, of course, it's convenient to tons of wineries. Breakfast was served promptly, was delicious, and included everything one could want. This is a great guest house.

  The guest house is in a great location in Stellenbosch (a really lovely town), quiet and pleasant but very central. Our room was really comfortable, with it's own balcony, and the house itself has a very nice ambience, as well as an interesting history. Very centrally located near to informal restaurants and coffee bars with a studenty vibe. All in all an excellent choice at a reasonable price; would definitely return.

  The room we had was quite basic and a bit older, but had everything we needed and was comfortable, with fresh towels and linens, and a nice view into the town. Also the owner, Arno, was very friendly and helped us with some plans and offered great tips - Excellent location; smack in the middle of the town center. The owner (arno Zacharias who looks like a rock star) & his staff were all accommodating & professional. They helped me plan small trips in & around stunning Stellenbosch. Ah, everybody should not miss the wine route! Room was kept immaculate. Breakfast was adequate. Arno was kind enough to offer me a lift back to the train station for capetown. Thanks! I will definitely stay here again. I really liked the welcoming spirit.
