Just a place to stay to feel at home during a vaction or citytrip. Secure car parking for free. Safe place to stay. Near Waterfront Harbour & Mall. Near Central train station and Cape town city center.   The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. Location was great & just a short walk from the top of Long Street and some good restaurants. Waterfront was a decent walk or a fairly quick taxi ride. Compared to some friends who were staying at numerous backpackers in and around Long Street, this sounded superior & I would definitel - It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.

We did feel safe walking to the waterfront even at night, though wouldn't have attempted it - Hotel is a little, charming jewel. It is well hidden in a secondary road, only 10 min walking from the waterfront. Rooms are spacious, bright and cosy. The common areas are well designed and welcome guests. Breakfast is awesome, with a wide choice and continuous replenishment, food is cooked on the spot, nothing pre-cooked here :).
