  The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is actually a complex of 4 different buildings and each one has different amenities, E.G., our hotel didn't have an ice machine anywhere in the building but our friends who were staying in another building did have one. The cheaper ones are standard Japanese business hotels, i.e. very small, cheap, functional. The more expensive ones give more space and luxury. Both offer good (if not extraordinary) value for money IMHO. The unique selling point of this hotel is that it's a 3min walk from Shinagawa station from which you can get Shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka, and Yamanote for pretty much anywhere.

  We chose the hotel for its good connection to Narita Airport Access Line for our last days in Japan. Kurama Station is only a few minutes away. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive. Good train connection to explore the city. The area can be a bit quiet in the evening.
