  Sanjojuku is a great ryokan. If you'd like to live a great japonese experience, this is the place where you have to go. It's all beautiful, with a nice wood smell and little flowers disposed in every corner. You also have the occasion of sleeping in front of a charming traditional japonese garden.   The location is very near to the train station. Owner Kenji-san was very helpful. He helped us to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor as the stairs were quite steep and provided us advice to travel around Arashiyama area. Basic facilities are provided such as towels, toiletries and tea. - A very nice housekeeper which speaks good English (No Jangl... was die leute sagen » ish ;)). Clean and nice rooms with real walls ;) as opposed to some other "ryokan". Free tea etc. Easy and close to Saga-Arashiyama station (4 min walk). Cosy neighbourhood.
