  Myself and wife had a long drive to the hotel that day, having booked only the day before as we needed a location close to the ferry across to Messina. It was refreshing to be greeted by the owner whom was only too helpfull and friendly, and his daughter also. He gave us a room with sea view in La Locandiera instead of la Piccole Grotte (I think it is the same owner), but that's probably because we traveled in low season. Room was very nice, breakfast very good and not standard (which is great).
