  I'm normally sceptical about ratings from other people & this place has a very high score - but I agree with the majority. The owner, Michel, has set up the place with a simple and elegant balance between medieval & contemporary - very nice . . . and very clean! On arrival Michel welcomed me in a way that made me feel comfortable immediate... was die leute sagen » ly. I found my bed was more comfortable than usual in European hotels. The breakfast was fresh & tasty with a couple of unique elements. Michel - This B&B is really exceptional. The house is four hundred years old but has been lovingly restored by Michel, the owner, and is now very comfortable indeed with a great bed. The location is amazing - directly opposite the extensive, exquisite and peaceful 13th century Begijnhof (a sort of village within a town), but just a 10 minute walk right into the centre of Leuven which is a lively and happy university town, or a 5 minute walk to the river and walks in the forest.   IBIS Hervelee is a business-focussed property in a service area off the main road. It is very well done. My room was possibly the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The double glazing very effectively kept the noise from the road out and the floor to ceiling curtains were blackout so I could sleep in the summer evening. In fact it is so good I have arranged for all my travel to Belgium to be based there.
