  Located about an hour away from the Grand Canyon and close to I 40 . Beararizona right up the road. Close to the most wonderful little downtown. Good places to eat and shop - close to the train. Great all around atmosphere! - Williams is just the best place to have as a base to visit the Grand Canyon. On Route 66 it is a friendly and well appointed little town and the Super 8 is a good functional motel with friendly helpful staff, a nice breakfast, reasonable rates and comfortable, (relatively) quiet and clean rooms.

  The heat was on when we got there. The room was clean though old. I would stay there again if I ever went back to Williams, AZ. You get what you pay for and this was very economical.   We wanted to stay on historic Route 66 on our way to Grand Canyon. For the price it is exceptionally good. And what makes El Rancho Motel most special is the great 5 stars attention and advice from his owner! The room was extremely clean, and the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful. There was also a fridge, microwave and coffee maker with ground coffee p - The Motel is superbly located for Grand Canyon which is only 50 miles to the south rim. But better still is the town of Williams. It put a smile on our faces immediately. Cowboys and ranch town on the 66 was such great fun with great food, but not neveau quinine!!   The park is a mile or two outside Williams (great Route 66) fun for a short stay) and an hours drive from the Grand Canyon. The park is nice and with very helpful staff. Stayed one night in a ´caboose´ - a converted railway locomotive or wagon. But it´s certainly a fun experience for a night or two. Not roomy and a bit primitive in some ways but that a - helpfulness of the reception staff. Especially one lady, she really made every effort (including speaking very slowly, which is uncommon and a blessing when English is not your mother tongue) to help us out of some problems we had. The location is great for visiting Death Valley; and still very near to Williams and to the main road (road 66)
