The staff at the front desk are very welcoming and helpful. A problem with the room was quickly remedied. The location was near the Capitol Building and other attractions and was easy to get into and out of for a downtown hotel. The room, though small, was pleasant and the bed was great. I liked the shower as well. The bathroom was first class. The breakfast room in the morning was well stocked and they had a Keurig coffeemaker in the room.
所有评语 » The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were beautiful! Old charm with modern feel - the best of both worlds. Very convenient to get to local attractions and restaurants - it is right on the skyway system. I will definitely stay here the next time I have an event in St. Paul. We liked the "Old Time Feel". We liked the keys that operated the doors. We liked Sarah at the Front Desk who was exceptionally helpful to us. We liked the wood floors and double bathrooms and very comfy beds. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant. If you like historical type buildings, you will be charmed by this hotel. It was clean and for the price a good place to stay for a night if you are heading to the excel centre. Breakfast was great. Location great as we were there celebrating St.Patricks's Day and could walk to all the festivities going on.Price reflected room and what we were using it for, mainly sleep. The lobby was 'old world' and elegant. Loved having a real key to use. Even though my room was small it was fine. I sank into sleep. A pleasure to see an old tile floor in the bathroom. The atmosphere is awesome!! We loved staying there and would recommend it to our friends. Very close to the Ordway and some very nice restaurants. The staff did a great job. Cost of hotel was very reasonable. Rooms were open and spacious. Our room had two bathrooms. Easy walking distance to the events we attended in downtown St Paul, MN. The European flair- such character in the hotel. Very homey and not over the top. Close to walk to the Wild hockey game and dinner at the microbrewery. Clean. The location was close to the events we planned. I hate to say anything negative at all since we loved the hotel but I thought the rooms were very reasonable. I didn't count on adding in the parking fee for the ramp next door. We paid $17 for one night which was a reduced rate for staying in the hotel. Plan on extra for parking per night when comparing prices to other places that validate or have their own ramps. But..the walls are paper thin so you can hear what is going on with your neighbours. The rooms are on the small side but very nice. Description of view was way off. We were looking at roof-top pipes and such. I would say, 'skip the breakfast' entirely or try and make it more European - I.E. tasty, beautiful - with real food. No one needs poor pastries and boxed cereals anymore. That's home food - in most places. The heater was annoying turning on and off throughout the night, difficult to sleep soundly. It was a long walk from the ramp to the hotel with luggage, especially if you were older.Not having a professional bartender and a nice restaurant attached is a drawback. I ordered a brandy Manhattan and he struggled making it. One night our neighbors (obviously intoxicated) came back to their room at 2:30 AM with several people. They began to party, playing their music very loud along with loud talking and shouting for about an hour. we were in room 1001 and it is the smallest room I have ever stayed in - nice and clean but way too small!!. AC units were wall mounts instead of central. Not a big deal. Come to expect this from older hotels that have been retrofitted. The wall/celing paint was pealing in places. The directions for shower was on daughter's side of bed so I knew it worked because she took her shower first, but it took me a while to figure it out. Nice. Thank you. Breakfast was most unfortunate. Pastries were old and dried out, lid on garbage can was broken as was the orange juice dispenser (stuck on the on position, creating a spill), no tongs to pick up pastries, no unsweetened cold cereal (only sugared). Free continental breakfast was worse than a Holiday Inn Express. We would much rather pay for quality than get free drek. No valet parking. Size of room, construction going on. Very bright morning sun, inadequate window coverings. Mild sewer smell in bathroom like many old buildings have. Resolved by running the water a bit and flushing a few times. Noisy heating & A/C unit in room. I like everything it was really nice. No hair dryer to be had .Even when requested and promised. Staff was out doing other things when trying to check in. A phone number left at the desk for such situations only called the phone on the desk ! Nice staff but a little too casual for this business traveler. People who didn't bus their dishes after breakfast. no fan in bathroom,. The room was too small and it was difficult to get around the bed No fan in the bathroom. a few steps from being repeatable: put a few thousand dollars refresh into lounge area furnishings and decor; make sure there is at least some place to hang normal length clothing on hangars; put some paintings on the wall. was very upset that it said it had a kitchenette, our room had a frig and no microwave even though it had plates etc... Nothing really. The mattress (too soft), the room could have been a little cleaner, the room door was a bit defaced at the bottom, one or two nice pictures in the room would have been good. Funky B.O. smell entering the room. Bathroom was a little wonky. No gym. Room next to us had a fight going on and found them to be noisy . our room was tiny compared to adjoining ones. Understaffed. Desk clerk too busy to assist with other request. No complaints really. They might be under staffed but no big deal. It's a quieter place anyways. breakfast, water pressure in shower...stopped suddenly second day. breakfast. bed not very comfortable, maid service did not show up until 5 p.m. - we then declined, noisy A/C, breakfast cereal choices bad - too sugary, quality of bread and bagels very ordinary, dirty windows. Needs some work, toilet was very loose, light bulbs out, no tv in the bedroom, no microwave in the kitchenette. Bathroom floor dirty. Tiny room, tiny desk, no space between foot of bed & desk, no bathtub, need soundproofing between rooms. 1. Staff was told about faulty waffle maker: it was removed the same day but reappeared, in same condition, two days later. 2. Room was 20 feet away from the building's rooftop a/c unit which ran constantly. 3. Room had cobwebs and the floor under the bed hadn't been mopped in quite a while. Booking not accurately registered. Blinds in room not working. Bathroom. There were leftovers in fridge from previous guests. No informational guide or phone book in room. A lot of the food and drinks items were gone at breakfast time, and no one there to restock them. No way to get a hold of the front desk besides going down there to let them know. A phone would have been nice in cafeteria. The room was too small considering the price.
