  The hostess, Kim was very friendly and accommodating. The place was just a few minutes walk to the heart of town and the cliff walk. It wasn't fancy but it was clean and comfortable. - Very comfortable rooms. Great location. The staff was so welcoming and sweet :)

  On our New England Tour we stayed here for the first night. The hotel is not far from the highway, nice and clean, friendly and helpful staff, has a swimming pool, a fitness room and a small store.   Stayed on 1st Fl Rm 105. Hotels location was a plus being so near Thames Street & waterfront. The underground garage was great since our car was secure while we walked all over Newport. Housekeeping inquired every night whether any thing was needed prior to morning. The bare brick walls were a nice decor/touch. Rooftop deck was nice to watch the sunset or harbor lig - This place was located in a perfect spot! Two blocks from the center of town. The building had such character and the rooms a beautiful mix of the old with the new. The staff was so helpful and friendly ( especially Jo!)! Awesome view from the top deck of the water. Lots of nice little touches....soft robes, fluffy pillows, good-nite note w/ gummy bears instead of chocolates :-)! Would definitely stay here again!

  The hotel is right in the center of everything there is to do. You can walk everywhere except to the mansions and then the Visitors Center is only a block away and you can get a bus to take you to the mansions. Our car never left the parking lot. It was near the waterfront as well as shopping and restaurants. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They gave excellent directions to nearby sights. Parking, although extra, was conveniently located across the street; just a few steps from the inn. Breakfast, which was included, was "just right" and was located in a homey and warm living room like location.

Quiet and comfortable The wood floors were spotless, - Everything about our stay was wonderful! My husband and I spent five nights at the Marshal Slocum Inn and were impressed with the attention to detail -- from the elegantly appointed breakfast to the lovely rooms to the cotton bathrobes. Mark is a wonderful host who has created a relaxing homey atmosphere in a historic area of Rhode Island. The location of the Inn is perfect for seeing all of the sites.
