While looking for property in the area, I stayed at the Island Hotel. What a pleasant surprise. I picked the Island Hotel for it's central location. The room rate was lower than other hotels on the island so I didnt know what to expect. I was greeted by friendly staff and the room was exceptionally clean and well decorated. I was equipped with all the "little" things you need like refrig and microwave. The morning breakfast and the pool also rate excellent. Thanks for a wonderful hotel experien.
所有评语 » All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good - waffles, fruit, english muffins, bagels, oatmeal. pool was clean & pool area was nice and relaxing. They even had at least one grill for cooking - didn't get to use it this time. Rooms were clean and comfortable. AC worked really well. The ping pong & pool tables were a fun treat. We had a 2-night stay for a beach weekend trip, and this hotel perfectly suited our needs. The staff is so friendly and helpful that my impression of Port Aransas is that much more favorable. The hotel is clean and easy to get to, beach access is a close drive. The beds are very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was very much appreciated. Good waffles. Good value. Friendly, helpful staff. Best of all it is VERY pet friendly providing bags for pet waste and a walking area. They even have a sign for your window you can put up when you leave your pet in the room indicating the pet is there so the maids will know not to enter. I will definitely return here. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful---and available! The breakfast room had it's own staff member available at all times while breakfast was served. though the facility is old, it has been very well maintained--fresh paint, well cleaned every day. we were able to take our dog for a very reasonable charge. The staff were all exceptionally friendly. They helped us find the best locations to view the sunset and eat. They know the area and their directions were spot on. The folks even gave us an old blanket to use on the beach! What more could you ask for?!. The staff is awesome! Everyone we dealt with were friendly and courteous. New the area and helped us find places. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The pool was very clean and refreshing. The continental breakfast was also decent quality food, unlike most other hotels in the same price range. The staff was incredibly nice, we were from out of town, they provided a map with all the local places to eat, where the beach was, ect....they tended to our needs quickly and had a great breakfast!. The staff were excellent! Very pleasant n there to accommodate. The rooms were very clean. The grounds werewell kept as well as the pool. Loved the continental breakfast. Stocked, clean, n variety. it's a nice place for the money i spent. it still costs an arm and a leg to go fishing these days. im getting old. i was there to spend time with my boys. i did that. we got to check in early. The hotel is across the street from the shuttle at Sharkys. They also have a heated pool. We liked it and would stay here again. Reserved online so was a little anxious as to what the hotel would be like for $60. We were very happy to see how clean and friendly it was. We enjoyed our stay. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and well supplied. Bed was comfortable. Place is family and pet friendly. Pool area very nice. I would stay again. Stayed here for three nights in March staff friendly, rooms clean, nice pool and breakfast very economical and a good base to explore the area. The town, the understanding Staff whom corrected the major problem we had when we arrived. The kitchen in our Suite, the gameroom downstairs. Really enjoy my stay here. They could use an upgrade on the TVs, some flat screen TVs would be nice. Upstairs guests were loud. I've gotten nicer rooms for the same price, but it is fair for a beach town's summer season and the staff are pleasant/attentive enough to help you feel you are well taken care of. The walls are thin as some reviews have said, but our neighbors were quiet at night. I'm sure if we'd had a problem with neighbors the staff would have helped. My biggest suggestion for improvement is to add sheer curtains to the window so you can let the sun in without letting everyone see into the room. I usually stay at a little more upscale places. With pets, though that is difficult. Mosquitoes! .... but what else should we expect. They kept the grass mowed, but the mosquitoes were still hiding in the bushes. I wish the tv reception had been clear. Nothing. parking was A little tight. I did feel like the overall cleanliness of the room was a little less than desirable. The floors had a fine coating of sand (from the nearby beach). There was also no ice machine. Nothing I would complain about. Check in time was 4 pm n our room wasn't ready to 4:50. The coffee pot in our room n coffee was lousy. Coffee in breakfast room much better. Could use hooks on bathroom doors to hang towels, bathing suits, etc. it was windy. i only caught catfish. gotta live here to play here, meaning know where the fish are. Stairs. One in our party had a hard time with them. Would have asked to change to a first floor room but the hotel was booked up. Next time we'll ask to move. We stayed on the 1st floor and could hear the upstairs people the first night. But that has happened in 4 star hotels and maybe can't be helped. Did not change how much we liked our stay. nothing was negative about our stay. Walls a bit thin, could hear neighbors clearly. Lots of Mosquitos! The beaches are of very low quality. That's the only negative I have:). The noise!! Omg! We heard every single footstep the people above us took, heard their suitcase wheels, every time they moved a chair,etc. We thought the wood floors were so pretty, but such a bad idea! It was awful, esp. Since we didn't get much sleep at all!. Pets not allowed in breakfast room & there's too many Mosquitos outside to enjoy the breakfast as a family. Thin walls; other guests were so loud. There was nothing we were displeased with. We were very much on the edge of town. staff didn't clean room til about 5 pm. Cheap TV set with cigarette burns on top, free breakfast still not worth it. none. Had to call the front desk twice that toilet would not flush properly. Not something you want to deal with on vacation. The parking was way to tight. The breakfast could be better. The towels could be cleaner. The smoke trays should have been in one area away from the non smoking rooms, it made the motel look cheap. There was no iron or iron board. Little high priced-almost $200 for one night. Nothing!. The portal potty next door smelled awful and I had to pass by it on my way up the stairs to my room. Not luxurious, but didn't expect that for the price.
