Beautiful historic building and beautifully decorated large room with lots of character...large restored bathroom and original wood floors. No mass-produced look. Nice glass window-lots of light. Adecuate closet, nice staff. Most delightful garden in front with a funky restored bus where you could drink coffee and others. In front of High Line linear park, lots of boutiques and restaurants. Nice staff.
所有评语 » I loved the large rooms and bathrooms and the beautifully tasteful renovation of the old Seminary building - very classy. But especially the location near the High Line for walking and near Chelsea Market and all the great restaurants. The staff was super accommodating an genuinely nice and there is a gourmet coffee/tea bar in the lobby with lovely fresh backed goods for the morning. Love the old-fashioned ambience - like you're in a private home in England. Beds are fantastically comfortable, with snow-white immaculate bedding and huge thick towels! Oriental rugs and old furniture are charming. Nice flat screen tv and bathrooms are lovely - classic black and white tile but updated and nice. Great location too - near cool restaurants and galleries. We were greeted upon checking in with a glass of wine. Nice touch. The staff is absolutely outstanding. Very pet friendly. Cool room with hardwood floor, fireplace, windows that open, robe & slippers, fabulous towels. The jar of cotton balls and Q-Tips was welcome. Just back and we had a super time. Rooms exactly like photographs and as described. The High Line is across the road, couldn't be closer, as are an array of restaurants, bars and shops. Would definitely stay there again, if we ever get back to NYC !. The location was fabulous - heart of Chelsea, surrounded by galleries and next to The high line. The hotel is physically beautiful as it is in the Old Episcopal Rectory and the furnishings reflect this history. Spacious rooms also. Staff were great. When we found out we didn't have a closet, they offered to move us (we declined). Room was small, but very comfortable and well decorated. Location is a block from the High Line, which is beautiful. Very beautiful building with a wonderful proximity to the High Line, in a fairly quiet neighborhood half way between the bustling theater district and the charming West Village. The neighbourhood, friendly and helpful staff, the smell of good coffee wafting through the lobby, the wonderful retro styling of the rooms, the proximity to the High Line. Cool vintage Civil War era building converted to hotel. Quiet spacious rooms with nice fixtures. Clean and private. Bigelow amenties were a nice plus. And free WiFi!. Staff could not have been more friendly. Bed was fantastically comfortable and clean. Easy walking distance of many restaurants and cafes. Absolutely loved it! My 4th floor corner king room was fantastic!! The next time I'm in Manhattan I definitely stay there again!. This is nice hotel with free wine at check-in in a great location near the Highline, Chelsea Piers and the Meatpacking District. Great location for us - very near family. Nice sized rooms, very clean, comfortable beds. The coffee bar was good too. Great staff! Very friendly! Still doing soft opening so some work still underway but not very impacting. Decor was stylish, great location (just off the highline) and staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. Not your every day hotel. The lobby is very, very disappointing... more like a Starbucks than a high-end hotel. No front desk, concierge. No food or room service. Fridge poorly stocked. Slow elevators. All things can and should be remedied. A little bit out of the way. Nothing - they were still renovating while I was there but as soon as that is finished and the new building across the street is done, it will be perfect! I plan to revisit in the Spring. Lobby level rooms are loud - you can hear everything as floors are mosaic. Unfortunately there is a condo being built across the street so it's very noisy early in the morning. And this condo will obliterate the view of the High Line. No room service. But the hotel just opened and is still under construction. A bit noisy on the first floor but that was mainly b/c it was a soft opening and they were still getting the hotel ready. Rooms need better storage. No lights by the bed for reading No shelves in the bathroom. That they did not give or send me an emailed bill for my stay; I still don't know why I have paid $300 more than my price quote. Utterly bizarre lobby under construction. Only one working elevator. No closet, no hooks and no hangers for clothing in the room. Sofa in room had extremely low back and was not comfortable to recline. Not much room for wife to spread make up and no mirror by desk/ dressing table. Refurbishment is not over yet. It's no longer the Desmond Tu-Tu, however it is adjacent to the monastery and still have the decor of the old hotel. However, they were bringing in some newer furniture aas we were leaving. I would recommend that they work on temperature control- our room was hot and we couldn't seem to cool it down. Also, a morning newspaper should be standard operating procedure- had to walk a few blocks to get our own. Need to improve stairwell. Wish there was on site restaurant?. Small quibble but my room was near the lift, and this made a loud "ping" every time it was called to the floor, which was a bit disturbing at night. No business center support. It is a new hotel and there is still some construction going on. Lobby could be nicer. Once the construction is over (noisy due to construction, smell from the painting) The Highline Hotel will be a truly wonderful Boutique Hotel. AC needed some adjustment as it it didn;'t oprvide as much cold as it should have. No big deal. I didn't like being woken up at 3.00 each morning by rubbish trucks outside my room. Also I had to get another light in the room as it was so dark, this was done immediately. Also we ordered a car company to get me to a theatre which was so late I had to get a yellow cab. Also a car was ordered to take me to the airport on Wednesday morning, but as I had no cash I had to pay an extra 20% on top. nothing. It's not quite finished yet. Rooms were a bit noisy. No coffee/tea making. Coffee in reception should be free. No info pack in room. No snack/food service. If you have luggage, depending on the room, you have to use stairs. There was NO cold water on our first day and they told us they didn't knew. We didn't believe it. It is not a Hostel and even if it is a new one that can never happen in a Hotel like this. The phones were NO working!!. The room was incredibly small and the staff were slow to be of any assistance when needed. The furniture in the room was falling apart and poorly placed despite the hotel having recently opened. A cockroach graced our presence as well.
