Stayed at The Sanctuary Hotel with two friends who were celebrating their fiftieth birthdays. The hotel is perfectly located if you are looking to stay in mid- town, offering the very best in customer service, with a friendly and informative front of house team who consistently delivered a relaxed, attentive and extremely helpful service. 所有评语 » I absolutely loved the Sanctuary & would return in a heartbeat! I was travelling alone for business but it would be ideal as a couple or for a special trip with friends. Service was above & beyond from the moment I arrived - at 10pm tired & weary! The lovely doorman took my case, took my name, the desk staff were then ready for me, super efficient check in. I was accompanied to my room & everything quickly explained & left to enjoy. I was sadly only there for 1 night:( I had. The location - within easy walking distance of Central Park, Times Square, New York Public Library, Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Centre, Empire State, St Patrick's Cathedral, 'Restaurant Row' etc etc. - is a huge advantage when you only have 3 nights in this amazing city. But to then come 'home' to welcoming staff and a beautifully relaxing room was an added bonus. We had a deluxe king, so it was probably one of the larger rooms, but we could not fault it. We also thoroughly enjoyed the c. The staff was extremely nice, helpful, and professional. We took our mountain bikes and were afraid of leaving them on my bicycle rack on the pickup truck. Marquis, the twin brother who works at the hotel at night, suggested he'd unload them and store them for us. It truly is a sanctuary situated one block from the hustle and bustle of Times Square and just a short 5 min walk to the Rockefeller Plaza. The continental breakfast was super convenient. Nothing!. Nothing. This is the perfect hotel for my girlfriend and me. Not one thing. Shower area not completely cleaned. There was a big ball of hair in a corner of the shower floor. The only problem we found in the room was the amenities, there wasn't a kettle so we couldn't boil water for our baby we had to keep ringing reception and getting them to run it up which they did and was very quick and helpful every time, and no hair dryer which we presumed it would have, as most hotels do and this was a problem for my fiancé as she couldn't dry her hair. Only tiny issue was our room had a bit of noise throughout the night. It sounded like air con or something, I think maybe we were near the main unit as we could hear it when ours was turned off. We were so tired though we slept through it. Aircon a bit noisy at night but we worked it out by the second night Complimentary toiletries not refilled when running low, meant I really had to scrape the barrell on the last morning. Hotel Room Hairdrier went missing on second day but not a big issue and replaced quickly when asked for one. Breakfast a bit limited but not a huge issue as there are lots of places nearby and I dont think there is a big emphasis on breakfast supplied in hotels in nyc generally. The lighting was too dark in the lobby and the hallways. The lighting in the bathroom for makeup application was awful. Because this hotel is just 9 floors, there are no view at all from your bedroom window. You just see the wall that belongs to next block. Therefore you don't see the difference between day and night. But this can also be a plus, because it makes the Hotel cosy and warm. The hallway from the reception desk to the elevator I needed to take to reach my room was dark and a bit unkept, with what seemed like duct tape holding some of the carpet on to the floor. This is the only thing that surprised me, but it certainly makes no difference to my overall excellent impression of the property. Nothing.... Air-conditioning / ventilation system too noisy! Breakfast is chaotic…. We liked it all. Nothing. The breakfast it could have more variaty.The room was small but expected for manhattan. Although the roof top bar and restaurant provided tasty drinks and delicious food, the service was a bit off. After giving our bartender the money for our check, she scowled at me in confusion and was a bit snotty. One man from the hotel also promised me and my girlfriend something nice for our one year anniversary, the reason for our visit, which we never received, although he had brought up the conversation. While I loved the atmosphere of the hotel, I did find it too dark and, in fact, one day a guest smashed into the glass doors on his way into breakfast. The carpet in 412 was musty smelling -- needs a good cleaning and with 2 teenage daughters, a second mirror would have been great. Breakfast was a little bit too basic but it was good. Nothing. Room and bed were a bit small, but well designed with a kind of semi open bathroom, giving a bit more space. The room sizes were quite small. Sometimes the room key didn't work on the first try, that's how picky I have to get to find a complaint :). Our ac didn't work the first couple of days. Our fault in that we didn't say anything, but as soon as they reset it, it worked great. Our room in this European type boutique hotel could have tweaked the use of space for better function, specially in the bathroom. The lighting was a pain. It took a while to understand that the green light on the switch meant the light was off. I had to press the light buttons severals to get lights to turn on. I understand using the room card to establish the lighting but the switches for the bathroom and sink were confusing. Also my window faced the patio roof where stuff was being stored. I did not like the view. The room was kind of small, but expected for a NYC hotel. Rooms are very small but manageable. Lighting is a little too dark for me. Problems with the lights in the room. The bed was too soft and gave me a backache. Not enough makeup light. Breakfast was very lame. Something you might get at holiday inn express. Would have been nice to have a place to grab a drink mid-day, The Haven doesn't open until 4pm. The view onto a brick wall, but then again it was a brick wall in New York!. The rooms were really small. They are doing construction which was a bit inconvenient. On our stay neither of the downstairs bars were open so we had to go up to Haven for a drink. They were packed like sardines up there and that's not what we had in mind for a relaxing before-dinner drink.
