The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to everything. The room had a balcony which was a nice surprise. Very friendly staff especially Lillian the night desk clerk she is very helpful and a wealth of information. The Chateau Hotel was exactly what we were looking for, it was anold building in the french quarter, not some sterile room that couldbe anywhere.Great location in the French Quarter; very helpful staff who assistedbeautifuly with early check out due to Hurricane Gustav.

We felt very safe and would stay there again!. The staff. location. Great location. close to everything. The Chateau Hotel was an excellent choice for the purpose of my stay. The Hotel is perfectly located and in walking distance to almost everything in the french quarter (2 blocks from Bourbon St., 3 blocks from french market the mississippi river, 4 blocks from Jackson Square). The rooms might be a little small but they are comfortable.The staff is very nice,they know their City very well. The pool and courtyard are very "New Orleans". We enjoyed sitting around the pool. It was very quiet yet you could hear St. Louis Cathedral bells and could glimpse the horse and carriages through the walkways.Typical old style French Quarter surroundings. Very friendly en funny staff and make sure you ask everything you want to know. They do know a lot and can help you making the best deals, like car rental, boattrips, shopping, etc. Location is perfect and it is an easy walk to Bourbon street, the shopping malls and the river. Lovely city and make sure you ask a local where to eat. The swaimming pool is perfect to coll down in the afternoon.location, friendly staff. perfect location in the heart of the French Quarter, very nice atmosphere, you feel like being in a different time. Of course, lack of internet connection and fancy entertainment set comes with that. Easy to get a taxi, within walking distance of wher I needed to be, very friendly and helpful front office staff, free in-room wireless access worked perfectly. location and pool. low cost, local to French quarter, nice open terrace. The location was fabulous! The bed was clean and comfortable.The frontdesk staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the Bellman. He had been there for 31 years and was a delight. The cleaning staff were always smiling and friendly.There was nothing that I did not like. The room with no windows. noisy early in the morning. Be nice if it had internet terminal. They could improve their breakfast, but it is very easy to have a big breakfast in the vincinity of the hotel. But it is nice to start your day with a cup of coffee and a newspaper by the pool. small rooms, musty smell, small tub and shower.it is not very clean. Meeds freshing up , paper coming away from walls , smelt damp, needs an extractor, no window to outside. We had to buy an air-freshening candle because the room we stayed in had a lot of black mold in the bathroom and the room itself smelled very musty. A good corner to corner cleaning is needed. We booked a room confident as usual that the photos of the room reflectthe real room... The hotel is very beautiful in the main part but theyput us in a room located in the worst side and it wasn't a three starroom but it was like a one star....not very clean.
