I liked that it was walking distance to the historic old town. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast included waffles, boiled eggs, variety of cereals, hot cooked oatmeal (not the packaged stuff), fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and toast. The rooms come with DVD players and they offer a wide selection of movies free of charge. There is also local transit (bus) station very close to the hotel.

I stayed here very recently for six nights while attending a conference downtown. Let me say it was totally worth the extra effort and cost in cabs to get downtown ( half hour by bus, 15 minutes 13 bucks by cab). The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, from the cleaning staff, valet parking attendants, front desk folks and management. It is only six blocks to the bay and all the tourist activities there, six blocks to Little Italy, two blocks to beautiful Balboa Park, and a couple of miles from San Diego Airport. Service was good, the room was clean and spacious. It was a bargain. We'll stay there again. -
