It was much quieter than staying downtown, with easy access to the bus and not far from Golden Gate Park by car. Good restaurants within an easy walk. but clean. This is a funky old art deco style motor hotel that is
maintained to accommodate budget travelers-don't expect valet
parking, or luxury amenities, but do enjoy the no frills quick check in,

I had a room that was large and very clean. Frig and microwave in room. It was easy access to the street, and I love this area of San Francisco. It looks a bit run down on the outside, but inside the rooms have been renovated and are very nice indeed: meticulously clean, very comfortable. There was a fridge and a microwave in ours, very handy. Spotless bathroom. Free (ample) parking in SF is invaluable. Location is very good too, just a very short walk off the lively Union street, convenient for buses... Overall, definitely recommended, we'll stay there again if we're ever in the area.

FRom check-in to departure my stay was trouble free. OK the breakfast is a muffin and make your own coffee but there are also places nearby for a full breakfast if you wanted. For me
my stay was as perfect as any expectations. The no 38 bus that stops at the door gets you downtown in about 130mins depending on traffic.But the friendly people on buses made it a pleasant journey.

As a mom traveling with 2 teenagers, I thought this was a great place. It's an older hotel that could use updating, but it's clean, staff is friendly and it has free parking.
