This place is a 90 year old hotel and it wears it well. It's elevator is a clicketly-clack apparatus with a scissor gate-that you have to hold the floor number for a couple of seconds to roll- did I feel safe using it? Yes. They have done a great job restoring the building. The showers and
restrooms were always clean. The washers and dryers were brand new and
worked very well. The staff here are cool. Great place to stay. The area
doesn't bother me, but I was born and raised in San Francisco. Most
