Given its splendid location we feared Tenaya Lodge would be self-important but it turned out very well with helpful, cheerful staff and good facilities. We intended to visit Yosemite National Park but the Federal closure meant that we had to find other attractions, which were many in "South Sierra". Tenaya Lodge is a location far less dependent upon Yosemite than might be thought.
