I was very surprised when i walked into the lobby to check in...Sugarloaf is a beautiful motel....the staff was very friendly and helpful and checking out the young man could not have been more pleasant at 7 AM. The breakfast was good--biscuits 'n gravy, waffles, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and more... Staff was friendly. While there were no laundry machines, they sent out my two-day's worth of laundry for $5.00.

For a dated hotel, my compliments to the management for the attention to keeping the facility up to date and clean. rooms had large tv, good shower head and the most unique think was the black makeup towel! I always feel bad when I get makeup on the white ones. * Very clean and modern room * Very friendly people * Wireless internet available * Lounge available even after check-out * Very positive impression. The view from our room was beautiful, it was convenient for the plans we had for that weekend and staff was helpfu. The smell in the room was great. The rooms where extremely clean and comfort was great. Staff was really helpful. The motel was clean, and maintained, and was a good price. It was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. We loved everything. Maybe some scrambled eggs ,bacon, and hash browns. Any of this would be great. found on internet easy to book easy to find reasonable cost. Liked the price, liked the location, liked the breakfast!. clean, heat was on upon arrival on a cold day. it was nice and clean ,quite and friendly. great accomodations, clean and neat. great price and decent breakfast. Price. Absolutly nothing. The place is a joke. The wi-fi is in and out and management couldn't care less. The breakfast service belongs in a prison. Close to our family we were visiting. Enjoyed visiting Bend, but won't stay at this motel again. The only thing that i did not like about Sugarloaf was the fact that the room could have been more decorated...minimal on the pictures...it just felt unfinished inside..other than that it was great...all of the things you want in a motel.... We drive a big truck and haul 43 ft trailers and parking was limited in the safe areas. The remote control for the TV didn't work - the staff gave us new batteries - it still didn't work. Everything else was as expected. could used more blankets. The lack of cleanliness of the breakfast area was disgusting, and poorly replenished with supplies. I would not go to the breakfast area again. Other customers were overheard also saying how horrible the breakfast area was. The lower sheet on the bed was not a fitted sheet so it kept sliding off the mattress. The ice machine was on the opposite end of where our room was. Not a big deal though. room had a flat screen tv but no HD service. WIFI was slow. nothing. breakfast-many people not enough food-places to sit. Lock did not work on room, light did not work. The beds were not too comfortable. Beds and pillows could use an update. Need to spend more time restocking the breakfast items. Pay better attention to the breakfast bar. There is always something out of stock, cups, juice, etc. Change bathroom door molding where it looks damaged at the bottom. nothing. Not enough paper products in the room. Otherwise very nice place. Bed saged in the middle, but it was still OK. They cancelled our reservation (even though we just altered the dates) -- but they worked hard to remedy the situation. Some of the staff at the front desk weren't very knowledgeable. noisy. Room had no personality, and was small. Stairway noise all night. No shelves in the bathroom, no iron or board for it, no extra pillows. Felt like staying in a blank cardboard box. Giant dead stuffed cougar in the lounge, so warning for families with small kids. Have to drive through a gas station just to leave the property. This is a simple, cheap hotel, not a destination. Wish they had spent some of the lounge cash on the rooms. The bed was uncomfortable. Slider lock fell off door our first room. Stephanie at frt desk moved us.. Rooms were pretty stark but clean. Bottom sheets are not fitted so they move when you do. Along with the matt pad. Wanted to check out early to go to another motel but they said I couldnt cuz I booked thru letsbookhotel.com. Pool not heated and too cold to use end of june-- that was something important to us.we will try another place next time. I didn't like that they charged my credit card three times in the same amount! And when I called to find out I was told that I would have to file a complaint with my bank to get the money back! Also they never even apologized!. Rooms not ready dark lighting food not great. Put me in room where semi trailers would park (engine running) 10-20 feet from my door all night. Noise was loud and woke me up at 1 AM & 4 AM. They did switch rooms for me when I asked. Sheets not fitted or even tucked in. Cross member on bed frame protruded 4-6" beyond mattress and was hidden by decorative bed skirt. I hit my ankle on this metal piece and its still a little sore. The parking lot is littered with cigarete butts. The staff and guests sit outside and smoke and the smell drifts inside the rooms. The vending machines are empty and inoperable. Flat sheets (no fitted sheet) that didn't fit the bed, used soap in bathtub, burned out light bulb next to bed, dirty carpet, carpet siding along baseboard coming unglued in several places all around the room. Food not good, either. Won't stay there again.
