We were very happy with our stay. We were on a low budget vacation and hj fit into our needs. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Please keep your prices affordable to travellers who cannot afford the higher priced hotels. This was our first stay in a hj since we were both children and after this stay we would definitely stay in hj again. I liked the price and how easy it was to get reservations on letsbookhotel.com. I liked the comfort of the a/c and bed. What I mean is, the a/c was good and cool and I could crawl under the covers and be comfortable. Not a stuffiness.

Excellent view from the back of hotel. the people were very helpful and friendly. rooms were nice and clean and comfy. Staff was extremely helpful. The lobby and breakfast area was well kept.Waffles were delicious. Room was quiet .Would stay there again . Everything good liked it good breakfast friendly place. Everything, location,price and nice size room. Night staff was very helpful Even in the rain. Room was very comfortable and clean. Nice and peaceful. The city itself. price. This property was affordable and more than adequate. Room was clean and functional without extra frills. I was housed at the rear of the building, over looking Low Country wetlands. This is classic Low Country, and if you like overlooking wetlands, fantastic!!!. The doors to the hallways were secure and you had to have a key was good. The location and the fact that it was near the bus station. Close to my destination. Quiet. Great parking. Location to marine base. Price and location. There wasn't to much to like, we had a nice view of the salt marshes. Everything close by the hotel. Made it very easy to find things. Was conveniente !. Just passing thur. nice place. The location wasn't horrible, but it was hard to enter traffic due to line of sight. The staff was courteous but not friendly - no smiles at all. The Pool was the best part of the Hotel. Very disapointed in howard Johnsons. Not much... maybe breakfast. It was quite at night. I felt like the people at the front desk could have been alittle more polite. Maybe smiled and said something other than "heres your key" and at check out, "ok your good." No thanks for visiting or come back or anything. Need better snacks and drinks. The bed wasn't comfortiable at all. The morning clerk was very lax in maintaining the breakfast bar . He refused to make any effort to refill or refresh anything. Never left from behind the desk. I felt as though he had been told to only put out a certain amout of food on order to save money. shower cap not provided, and nly three towels for two people. We needed a towel for the evening shower and for the next morning!. One staff member was very unprofessional. One night stay. Everything met my needs!. When checking in the person at the counter seemed indifferent and same with checking out. the bathtub didn't drain properly. Lacked basic cable stations such as CNN on television, but this is minor. It would be great if the facility could invest in a sign that lights up or is more visible from road as it is easy to pass hotel with poor sign. sheets were dingy and mattress covers were not very fresh looking. Front desk guy couldn't print my receipt. Breakfast was below average. The toilet leaked at the base, bathroom floor was wet, very unsanitary. Toaster didn't work for breakfast, noisy. There was roaches in our room, and the "clean" towels had hair all over them. Was disappointed that there where no available power outlets to plug in my phone charger for the night or my computer. Also the cleaning people opened the curtains and left them open after we had them shut for privacy,so all of our belongings could be seen. I don't care to have my stuff on display for anyone to walk by and see and try to steal. Bathrooms need lot Of maintanence ! And rooms need to be upgrade. When I brought my neices and nephews over and they said they could not get in the pool an the sign says the pool opens at This time and it did not open till 15 mins to check out time. They people at the front desk was rude I ask for a late check out he said okay the 11:15 he comes and say ur late and need to get out then while we packing up he comes and open the slide door while we were in the room. Did not like that at all. Run down. Bad odor in room and hallway. Broken lamp, old mattresses. The key cards were troublesome. Why activate each day? Our cards had to be replaced once or twice during 2 night stay. ..for 2 nights??? The lobby was not very inviting..no place to sit other than to eat in "close" quarters at best. Too far a drive from the highway. Advertised with free breakfast. False advertising. Couldn't even get toast. Supposedly a problem with electric wiring. Not the friendliest or cleanest. Would never stay again. I requested a handicap room - the toilet was practically under the sink cabinet in the bathroom and nearly impossible to sit on comfortably. The outlet for the iron was barely hanging in the wall. The bed felt like there was no padding between the springs and me. Staff (Oscar) was not very friendly. Breakfast service was terrible and food ran out by 7:45 when we arrived for breakfast we asked to have the waffle mix refilled and we were told they were out so we left for Waffle House and later we were told by other guests that as soon as we walked out they refilled the waffle batter. Rooms were not very clean. Beds were terrible. When we checked in at 1:30am we did so through bullet proof glass located on the side of the building. The room was not clean, the bed linens did not fit properly and did not appear to be clean. The bracket holding the headboard was pulled from the wall. The tv in the entertainment center was raised up with wood to help fill the space. We slept in our cloths and checked out first thing in the morning. The facility is outdated; inside the room: no bath mat, door handle to the adjacent room torn off, all doors screech than you can't sleep if anybody is going to the bathroom. Staff doesn't know where the beach is... ha-ha. Hotel is very outdated. Front office staff was unfriendly. Half of the parking was off to the side of the hotel and appeared to be unsafe. Paint flaking of the wall. Shower curtain rod looked like it had been pulled down and they had poorly patched it. Toilet lid was broken. Mildew in ceiling of bathroom.
