another enjoyable stay on one of the busiest weekends ever!yet staff still had time to show us to our room and show us around. we love this place for its quirkiness and the beer garden which our room overlooked - had to remember to shut the bathroom blind or people would have been treated to a view of us ! good value excellent food and staff who really do listen to what you want and try to do it. good mix of age group in staff and nice to have a pub where you can talk without shouting over loud.
所有评语 » Although I have ticked city trip, because that is what we did in York, The Lamb & Lion comes under a different description. It has lots of character. We stayed in the Attic, it was beautiful. Really comfortable. Brilliant being in the middle of York, parked in Marygate carpark and didn't go back until we left. Staff lovely, left the phone charger in the room when we left, Manager posted it back to me next day, no problem. Breakfast delightful. Would definitely go back. Location was perfect, breakfast was really good! We stayed on the very top floor in room 7 which over looks the gate and the small road that the hotel is on. There was no loud noises to keep us awake and I'm quite a light sleeper. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. We were on the 4th floor so there were alot of stairs but that didn't bother us. Also, checkout is at 11am but they will store your bags I'm the cellar if you want to do some sightseeing. The location was perfect. A short strole to Cathedral and shopping. And the staff were hard working, polite and friendly. The beer garden was a delight with the view of Cathedral and historical wall. Accommodation was clean and comfortable breakfast was fresh and prompt. The Inns gourmet menu was fab esp the slow cooked Lamb. Excellent service, relaxed,warm,professional and comfortable.10/10 And the beer was superb! Thank you. The Inn was warm and friendly with very helpful staff. Great location just down the street from the Minister. The service was excellent and the room which was the attic room was spacious and very clean. The food was lovely and the real ales went down a treat with my partner. A great place to stay. We would happily stay here again as the staff provided an excellent service and the atmosphere was smashing. Great weekend!. Lamb and Lion is an authentic traveler's inn - pub on the bottom and rooms upstairs. Their food was terrific and their location can't be beat. It's right next to one of the oldest city gates and just down the street from the Minster. We had two rooms fronting the street and it was quiet during the night (10:30 pm until 7:30 am) and the beds were comfy. The kids loved the inn and the city!. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The location was fantastic, right in the centre of York. The staff were very helpful providing us with a room to changed in as we were going to the Races and had to check in early. They also arranged parking and a taxi. The food was excellent (evening meal and hot breakfast). We stayed here for my birthday last weekend and loved it. The location is perfect, your a 5 minutes walk from the train station and can see the minster from the hotel. The food was delicious and really good value for money. The staff were superb. It also had my boyfriends favourite beer on pump so he was happy too! Would definately recommend. 5*. The Lamb & Lion is a wonderful, traditional old inn, with lots of atmosphere and character. I stayed there with my friend and we found it excellently located for all the main sights and attractions in York. Our rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean with good facilities. Breakfast was lovely. Will definitely stay there again. staff were very friendly in this inn which was very well situated close to all sights York had to offer. Accomodation was very clean and for the price good value for money. Friendly atmosphere in bar which boasted a good selection of beers. Excellent breakfast served by friendly staff. Would definately return to this inn. My husband and I stayed at the Lamb and Lion Inn for a two night stay following our wedding. The Inn, food, and location were excellent. The staff friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend booking the Lamb and Lion Inn, particularly to sample the breakfast and dinner menus. Will definitely book to stay again. they have an excellent chef and the quality of the food and drink was excellent - especially the steak pie and homemade black pudding the location was also perfect and it was delightful listening to the minster bells the staff were very helpful and polite and made our stay very enjoyable. The history of the inn was evident to see it was really well kept but still had a gas of character charm. The food was fantastic and the location is great. The rooms were large enough and very comfortable. The top room which we stayed in had a great view of the Minster. The staff are a pleasure to deal with. They upgraded us to room 9 which was a very nice very clean room. Sure you do get a bit of noise but get real this is a popular city centre pub. Another plus+ the food is spot on we will always try and book here first. Well done!!. We loved our stay here. The hotel was very quaint, but would not suit travellers who want modern surroundings. The food was excellent, could not fault either our evening meal or morning breakfast. If you love history and oldy worldy, this is the hotel for you. Great location near York Minster. Good value for money. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was consistently tasty. We enjoyed our interaction with the staff in all parts of the hotel. The location was perfect for accessing all the historic points of interest in York. the atmosphere and decor are so charming and cozy that it is worth it, despite the noise. Take earplugs and you will be fine. Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly, let us drop bags off before check in an after check out too. Friendly, helpful staff, large room which was furnished with antique furniture, comfy bed, great breakfast, good location. Stayed in room 11 which overlooked the street. Excellent 3 night stay would definitely use on a return visit. Location best for us in busy town, breakfast was nice good choice, even cooked us something not on menu. Nice old place full of little rooms, cosy coners. if staying here stop off to drop bags off and collect car park ticket 1st. I loved this place because the location was perfect, it had a view of the castle walls from the front and the beer garden had a view of the York minster. Beautiful setting in historical part of York. Preserved many of the original features of the original building which made the place really atmospheric and authentic. Nice comfy rooms lovely beer garden- 150 yards from yorkminster-great food, small real ale bar - nothing bad to say about it- if you want to eat out here are loads of takeaways 100 yards from it. the location was spot on for getting around the sites of york could not have been better. i would really like to return to york at sometime in the future, found people very friendly and helpful. Stayed here last minute and what a lovely little place. Perfectly situated for looking round York. Staff were lovely and helpful. Room was spotless and bathroom was clean and water hot. The pub was typically old English. It had a good atmosphere. Staff were. Very helpful carrying our bags up three flights of narrow twisty stairs. I would recommend this inn. Great location, views, staff and food. Room was perfect for a couple. All in all a great place that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. I cant wait to come back!!. The quirkiness of the hotel,the location was great and everything in the city is in walking distance so you can park the car and not need it again until you go home. A nice, comfortable pub/hotel located 5 yards from a mediæval gate set into the Roman walls. Small, comfortable, cosy rooms, a wonderful bed and a fine breakfast. Found it a bit noisy at night, people in the pub garden/but it is a pub and that goes with it. Didn't stop us sleeping, so tired after walking everywhere. Bar is open 24hours to residents but I kind of felt like they would rather us not stay down. Nothing, it said what it did on the tin. The Inn seems to only have one female tolilet which is located next to the kitchen. The toilet is not very nice as it smells and is in great need of some TLC. Not at the same standard as the rest of the Inn!. Theres nothing to not like. Nothing. Leaving. Our room was on the top floor and because we are so unfit getting up to the room was a killer!!. Climbing 52 stairs for top level rooms. The parking was adequate and a convenient walk away from the hotel but a detailed map of the parking should be provided on the web-site to avoid the hassle of locating it in relationship to the hotel for those new to the area. loud, could hear people in the hall and in room above very very clearly. It is an old building which has been restored beautifully...but earplugs are recommended. Definitely a good location for a short stay, but over longer trips I might find the noise too much to handle. All perfect!. Don't stay here if you struggle up stairs as no lift but I'm sure a lot of the old buildings can not modify to put them in, didn't put us off. There was nothing to fault. The only downside was a noisy fan, but as this switched itself off at a reasonable time it did not detract much from my stay. Nothing!. Nothing. A few fixtures in the room were slightly off. Eg a loose tap, and glitch that turned TV on at midnight every day?. nothng really. Cant really say I disliked anything! Maybe a few more beers n spirits to choose from but a small bar so I can understand why this might not be easy. For the price, nothing. Location of bedroom at top of the pub resulting in climbing 66 stairs to reach it. The plastic chandeliers-tacky. No mirror by power point to blow dry hair. TV reception not perfect, but I was not in York to watch TV! Probably not in control of hotel. There's nothing to dislike. I have no negative remark to do. Have nothing to complain about. Car parking quite a distance but out of every ones control. Minor, minor things that just brought the service down to good. Toilet had been used but not flushed prior to arrival! The attic room would not have been suitable for anybody having difficulty with steep stairs. Items missing from both the dinner and breakfast when served. Lots of stairs as we were on the top floor; water tank above our room was very noisy; shower was a bit on the cramped side. The room wad very very hot. Don't book attic room if you are tall not much head room, Very steep stairs, small 3/4 bath, extremely small sink. Lamb and Lion is more of an inn than a hotel so staff attention inevitably divided between the pub/restaurant and the hotel service. Parking was quite a walk away but not a problem in general. Having to wait at a busy bar to check in, was expecting a reception area.
