We like the fact that as soon as we had parked the car and entered the Helyar Arms it had a warm welcoming feeling. The room was immaculate, romantic and had a very homely feeling. We had the most beautiful dinner in the evening. It was exactly as described in the menu and surpassed our expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and even accommodated our impromptu of playing GIANT JENGA on the floor whilst waiting for out meal!! much to the delight of others. Our breakfast was equally del.
所有评语 » Can't wait to stay here again!! This is a rare find. Countryside location surrounded by Thatched roof cottages. A quirky 15th century building brimming with character, ample car-parking, cosy, clean & comfortable rooms and absolutely the best food I have tasted in a long time. Mathieu the owner is an award winning chef and a superb host too!. Delightful listed pub/hotel in pretty village. Wavy floors, bedroom & e/s very comfortable & worked well. Food excellent. Staff & "locals" friendly. Price amazingly good value ! We'd love to go back. An excellent pub with excellent food in beautiful East Coker. The room was clean and comfortable; breakfast was great. Convenient parking space. Truly amazing quality. Nice room. Excellent cooked Breakfast. We ate our evening meal there also. As the meals were very good, and we enjoyed each one. Delightful village. So quiet. Delightful and picturesque little village. The Helyar Arms is a very old and attractive venue, and the staff extremely pleasant. beautiful village setting, friendly atmosphere, good food, selection of beers. accommodation was clean and comfortable. I've stayed before and quite like the place even with it's faults and there are quite a few. Food is excellent and the pub itself has a great cosy welcoming feel. The village that the heylar arms is situated in is beautiful. The food although expensive was very nice. the food was very good. nothing. The bedroom heating wasn't on when we arrived - it warmed up later. Nothing. No Chairs in Room or somewhere to read a book for a few moments. Unfortunately, our bedroom smelled very musty, and of a strong, stale, residual smell of cigarettes from days gone by. The bed clothes had absorbed this, and our own clothes were then equally affected. We wish we had asked for another room. Little advertising at the Inn, and in village about T S Eliot who was born there and is interred there. got the room at a reduced rate. i would not like to have paid the full price. as i have stopped in accomodation as nice for less than the price paid. shower pressure very low could hear taps running and toilets being flushed in other rooms. Nothing. Nothing. The shower in our room wasn't that great. Breakfast not so good. Could have cooked longer. Leaving good food, service and staff behind. service was slow and not consistent although friendly short of staff i thing. The food was average, when my husband ordered Steak and chips (which were supposed to be thrice cooked) the chips were soggy frozen french fries..when he asked the waitress she said...That,s how they come...very badly handled. In our room (Pincushion) the television was extremely dated and had an orange hue to it and we had to replace the batteries in the handset, also we could only get a mini screen picture on every channel..inadequate and unwatchable . Drinks a bit expensiv. Our room this time was awful!, the shower couldn't decide between scolding hot or freezing cold whilst the shower tray fillied up like a bath, the toilet seat was hanging off, there were dirty used cotton buds left on the floor, coffee was present but without a decanter, The bar/eating area was run by a single lad who was struggling to keep up with the Bar AND waiting on tables and therefor was ,Mr Forgetful' constantly and extremely slow, this place currently has some serious issues. No blind on the bathroom window which looked out onto the car park plus the glass was clear so anybody who looked up could see you. We had to put a pillow up to give us some privacy. The free view on the tv was not working I told the girl who dealt with reception on the Saturday morning she said it would be dealt with! It wasn't and the same girl brought us our breakfast's not only forgot our toast but there was no butter available which considering the money I paid was out of order. Could not check in between 13:00 and 18:00 The noise from the bar below was very loud and smokers below room window were noisy asked for zbed did not get it . breakfast was lacking beds very uncomfortable staff unhelpful needs updating didn't know pub shuts at 3pm and doesn't open till 6 nowhere for us to sit and chill.
