The Position in the square near all the shops. Freindley staff and smoked haddock for breakfast!. Nice, friendly, helpful staff who made you feel at home. The welcome and friendliness of the staff. central location. free and easy atmosphere and friendly staff. Friendly Staff. The attitude towards our dogs. There was complete acceptance and we never felt uncomfortable about the dogs.
所有评语 » It made a change stopping in a hotel that was very old because of its general character. Good location. The breakfast was very good, saving grace really. Real sausagesused instead of the tasteless catering ones you quite often get.Friendly staff. location very close to the market, design of the hotel, rooms, very warm hotel. Pleasant and informal attitude, with a range of parts of the hotel to relax in.Good food nicely cooked,but service for evening meal was poor. the pub bar. Food. the welcome and the breakfast. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, despite major/ disastrous circumstances (see below). convenience of location. After sitting and waiting at least 30 mins for my order to be taken the food was very nice. it was an experience!!!!. The building. Situated in the city center. Staff friendly and helpful. Not a lot! If we had arrived earlier and had the option of going somewhere else we would have done.Friendly staff, breakfast and the fact that the bed linen and bath towels were clean. Breakfast was good. Nothing!. the food was very good. Bed was comfortable. very little. The building. The woman at reception, she changed my room since it had NO shower. parking facility did not appear secure. Could do with a much needed face lift as it is extremely old and in need of care and attention. Needs a bit of a revamp.Although the rooms and hotel were clean the whole hotel was tatty whichlet it down unfortunately. Wouldn't consider staying again unless theonly option available. Shame as it has the potential of an amazing hotelwith all its history. Could do with tastefully updating. Unproffessional recepcioniost who even don't know hotels' room facilities.A bit down at heel ..... but do I sense recent new owners/managers??. noise from the main market, noy enough tea and coffee in the rooms. Outside the back of the hotel where outside bar is very very scruffy The noise from the bar and outside by the non resident drinkers was appalling until 3am. There was no shower, only a bath. It is somewhat 'tired', and could do with a refit to bring it out of the 1950s. Also, too much background music was played (in most of the dining areas). The small car park was in a filthy condition, the contents of an ashtray were thrown over my car not a very good advert for what is a nice hotel.Lack of real ale in the attached public house which was advertised as having six guest ales but had none. Scruffy public bar. Room was cold heating not working had to ask twice for a heater.Room overlooked main square and very noisey with people returning home after pubs shut awakened very early with market stall holders erecting market.there was a disco on and that was noisy and intrusive. Attached to the hotel is a pub (way from hotel car park passes through pub) full of unsavoury characters. At night, there was a major fight, with shouting, broken glasses, police action and about hald a dozen arrests. In the hotel, there were always keys missing- the receptuion locked up, nobody had a clue of what to do. Apalling. poor decorative condition of hotel generally; small size of rooms; low apparent level of maintenance/housekeeping. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, due to the shower head being of very poor quality. We did not have a shower rail or curtain.The staff at breakfast and evening meal were very very slow to serve. I had mould and damp on the wall in room- window frame needs repair. Dirty smelly untidy corridors/halls. Was then subjected to 2 kids running around all night, on creaking floorboards in the room above mine- these were friends of the hotel and were not paying guests- was told they were a little overactive! I got 3 hrs sleep. very run down and in need of some TLC. a lot of young local people tended to use the bar and court yard especially in the evenings, The bouncers on the door were a bit off putting.Staff walking about the place while off duty. Drinking red wine behindreceptionand closing the bar to do so. Bedroom was freezing , had no heating.. Bathroom very small and fitments all 'past their use by date' ..Breakfast service and food quality was below standard ...bar furnishings very tired ...Hotel is very old and really clean. Very poor breakfast. No hairdryer in the room, windows wouldn't stay open and no fan / aircon, small car park. The haeting in the room was inadequate. Radiators were barely giving out any heat even with thermostats switched fuuly on. Very poor room. The Hotel is in urgent need of updating, the restaurant and bar area was not very clean. The bar shut early and if you wanted a drink you had to go into the adjoining pub for a drink which is definately not suitable for residents of the hotel. It even had a bouncer to deflect locals from entering the Hotel! Got very little sleep due to drunks going home through the town centre shouting!. We stayed 2 nights and our room was not serviced, we were given 2 clean towels outside the door. Bed linen was left all along the corridors which we had to step over even at 1.15 when our taxi was due.Everything! The hotel overallis well overdue a refurb the room smelledsmoky and the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The wondows werefilthy. Paid £55 for a double room if hell forze over an I went back Iwouln't pay £20.00. everything needs to be upgraded and the rooms were cold and out of date also very noisey in need of double glazing would not return. Freezing cold - no heating on in the bedrooms. We were given a nursery heater but it had little impact. No heating in the dining room - we were told breakfast from 7 a.m. but at 7.04 restaurant was pitch dark and no heating was on. The chef couldn't be found. Delays in finding the food made me late for my appointment. poor parking facilities staff unhelpful public areas dirty poorly organised. Very busy night club joining hotel. Staff at breakfast did not seem willingly to work, no wireless connection in my room, despite this was mentioned on my reservation sheet, room did not smell fresh and clean. Room was very cold and radiators did not work. I don't think will come back.The rooms where not level , they advertised all rooms with a shawer, but did not have one, the toilets in the pub where blocked and overflowing . I would not stay there again at any price.
