The wellcome on arrival was friendly and informative.justin was very pleasent .polite.and made us feel that we were at home?the room was spacious clean and had everything u could want for a quick visit. Also the breakfast was very good an exellent choice of fresh fruit &ceareal .an exellent experiance highly recommended. Good location 5 mins. Walk to shops/harbour.nice well decorated room, comfy bed,excellent breakfast.Good friendly service.Parking outside on street.Excellent fish and chips from around the harbour shops but beware of seagulls which will try to snatch them out of your hands.

There was a corkscrew and two glasses in the room, though as we went into town, we did not make use of them. Friendly owners and great value for money. Would recommend to others. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The room was lovely - very comfy with tea and coffee available. Breakfast was yummy and cooked to our specific order. The location was great, literally a 5 minute walk to the beach and shops. We would definitely stay again!!!. The hosts were friendly and greeted us brilliantly even offering take our luggage to our room. we stayed in room one, a twin, which was spacious and had en suite. the breakfast was excellent and we had a good choice. Excellent in every respect! Magic breakfast, very comfortable beds, ideal location for walking into Whitby, extremely friendly staff and very competitively priced. Totally enjoyed our stay - we will return!. The friendliness from the moment of arrival, food was excellent with lots of choice and cooked fresh to order. Rooms were comfortable and well planned with a good eye for detail.close to all amenities. felt really welcome as soon as we arrived at grantley house. lovely staff, rooms were lovely and comfortable. felt right at home! breakfast was brilliant too which was an added bonus. The location was fine as we were in Whitby so that we could walk part of the Cleveland Way. Breakfasts were good at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a 5 min walk to the sea front and a ten min walk into town. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very nice & there was a fair choice. Our room was clean & smelt nice when we entered every day. All the bed linen & towels were fresh smelling. My room was a good size and the bed and pillows were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. nothing. Nothing!. with respect, I thought that the cleaning could have been better. none done from arriving to leaving in room, only had tea/coffee filled up once throughout the weekend. No negatives - location fine, food good lots of bars nearby. Grantley House - very good. Parking. But i realise that is not in their control. We were very happy with everything and would like to stay at Grantley Hse again in the future. breakfast time was too early for a weekend break would have been better 8 till 10. Shower/en suite very cramped and not powerful. Things were broken in the room e.g. curtain tie back/towel rail/several knobs came off of drawers, which led to one pair of trousers being snagged. The stairs were too much for one of the party and had I known there were that many steep stairs I wouldn't have booked it. Inconsiderate noisy neighbours from house next door paying loud music until late. Nothing!. Could benifit from a "lick of paint" in the up stairs corridors but by no means did this spoil our stay. Nothing major. Areas for improvement: freesat signal was poor. Only drawback is having to find a parking space in close proximity. Nothing to dislike at all. nothing. Room could have been cleaner Chest of drawers needed repair Window wouldn't close completely. the only downside was that the free wifi wasn't working. The room was a little on the cool side and it felt chilly when getting out of bed. Hard to park; On street parking. glass shelf in en-suite needs fixing. pull cord to electric shower in room 4 needs lengthening. Walking upstairs n bathroom facilities but u could tell bedrooms had been done maybe shower rooms are next. everything was fine nothing to dislike. Nothing. There were lots of hills. weather. poor shower. The room was maller than I hoped for ( not much room around the bed) it felt uncared for and badly in need of decorating. The fixtures and fittings were shabby, the shower room was clean but small, badly fitted and the towel rails and shelves were unstable/ falling off.There was quite a lot of noise fom the other rooms. Our room was very nicely decorated, however a few maintenance issues were in need of attention. The sink was actually located in the bedroom instead of the en-suite, the toilet actually moved & the shelf, towel rail & toilet roll holder in the bathroom were all loose. The decor of the room was tired and outdated with too many "dust traps" namely the black chandelier and silk flowers which hadn't been dusted for awhile. The shower needed a deep clean around the bottom of the door and some new sealant. There was a handle missing off the wardrobe door and broken hangers lying in the bottom of the wardrobe. Little things make big impressions.
