Ferndale is family run and every effort is put into making the guests feel at home. The little touches in the rooms all count, lots of toiletries, china cups, covered drinking glass, plenty of beverages and tidy well equipped rooms cleaned every day by very efficient staff, free Wi-Fi and free view TV with modern plasma TV. The breakfasts are superb cooked to order and variations made on request. Full English breakfast, boiled egg and soldiers, omelettes with fillings, hot chocolate as well as .
所有评语 » Ferndale hotel is on its own nestled high up on a ledge surrounded by trees making it a very cosy romantic place to stay just what we wanted and the four poster room number 6 was clean and the bed was beautiful and comfortable. The owners and their close family are such wonderful people, big thanks to George the owners polite and friendly son and granny for the entertainment at breakfast and for all they do, they will go out their way to help you. Food was nice and plenty to choose from and loc. Ferndale Lodge was run by a very nice family, on arrival some 2 hours early we were invited to check in. John gave us a local area map and showed us places of interest we could visit. Breakfast was of a very high standard, rooms were spotlessly clean. Johns mother in law had everyone in fits of laughter at breakfast, she must be the loveliest, sweetest lady in Torquay, her grandson was also a credit to the family. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Torquay. We were accompanied by a two-year-old and an eight-year-old who were both made to feel very much at home by the staff. The living room had a toy box with some good quality toys for my youngest to play with and a variety of books for all of us. We were seated near this area for breakfast, allowing us space to let the youngest play rather than expecting him to sit still for the duration. The food was excellent. The beds were really comfortable. Had a fantastic time staying here.Ferndale Lodge is rated 4 star however in my opinion there should be a big + after the 4 stars. Welcome very good, breakfast, could not fault this, full English plus a selection of fresh fruit and cereals. Room was spotless and bed was comfy. Had a wonderful time here and will certainly be returning. The facilities at this guesthouse are superb. The bedroom was clean, the bed and pillows 5 star. It was a real treat to have a nice mattress to sleep on. Facecloths in the bathroom was one of the nice additions. The welcome was friendly and dietary arrangements for breakfast were catered for at a time that suited. On arrival made to feel very welcome and given a details of where to go and see in and around the area including a map for free. These recommendations were very worthwhile. Very friendly, professional run business and the added bonus of the Gran who was a great character mad it fun. This is my fourth stay this year at this family run B&B.
