The Ridgeway, an ancient trail described as the UK’s oldest road is just 150-meters from the hostel and is a great starting point for bike rides and walks. Beale Wildlife Park and Gardens is within 3 miles of the hostel and the Living Rainforest, an indoor tropical greenhouse, is just 5 miles away.
YHA Streatley is conveniently located between Reading, Swindon and Oxford. Reading can be reached within 30 minutes, whilst Swindon and Oxford are less than an hour’s drive. Central London is just over an hour away by car or by train.
The hostel’s room sizes vary from private twin bedrooms to large dormitories. Guests can take advantage of the common lounge and dining areas, as well as the communal kitchen.

As walkers, we loved arriving at YHA Streatley to find it warm, comfortable, and the staff efficient and friendly. After walking for hours in heavy rain, we really appreciated the drying room where we were able to dry out all our gear over night.

Staff was very family when available.
The common room didn't smell great. It was clean and comfortable but the upholstery had a residual smell.
I would prefer to have had a private toilet but that is not possible at such price.
Lack of wifi
It can be hard to find at night, post code navigation does not take you to the exact place. Could do with a sign at the gate entrance, visible from the road.

Sharing filthy toilets and noise was not controlled. Self catering facility a total put off!!! For the amount of money paid,we couldve slept very comfortably at premier inn. So dissappointed!!!!.
We had to make our own beds we had to strip our room beds we have no towels no soap . I personally not stop there again.
