It is a very unusual hotel! Run by a local authority which must be a very enlightened one. It is modern and has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were delightful -unfailingly helpful and friendly, Beds were comfortable and our room had a lovely view overlooking the lake. Bedrooms are huge and it was very quiet at night. We were attending a family event locally, but it is a good value for money base for exploring Liverpool, which is only a short train ride away, or for exploring up the Lancastrian coast,
