I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. We stayed at the Gold Rill for 2 nights in April. We found it to be so lovely, peaceful and relaxing, a proper home from home. It has a beautiful dining room, and with lovely comfy lounges and views. We enjoyed the pitch-and-put no end. The hotel is only a couple of mins walk into the center of Grasmere, just perfect! And with lovely staff, we would definitely go again.

Everything from the cosy very well decorated room, warm hostess who was extremely helpful in finding activities and transport info. price would be but large comfortable rooms in a beautiful historic
