Good breakfast.good location, on the sea front. The hotel's location was brilliant with beautiful views of the sea andclose to the town centre you couldn't really ask for more. The hotel is always clean and comfotable, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Easy access to the sea front. Did not need to use the car.Sea view and excellent breakfast and bar snacks. Staff helpful when confronted with a problem. The convenience of location. locationand price. The sea view and the restaurant served excellent food. Well presented and very well priced. food and restaurant services is good breakfast is very good. Location. Convenience for access to Lowestoft. The view from my room. the position - right on the seafront. Sea view from the bar. Cheap price. location. Bar and restaurant area was cold. People sitting with coats on. The ceiling fan was on in the bar. (in the middle of winter) Made it uncomfortable so ended up going back to room to watch TV. Need to put the heating on.Remote control missing from the bedroom - not a problem though, just a mild inconvenience. too hot lol. the amount of steps around the place but don't think the booze helped!. Price of breakfast. Slightly small single room. Hotel corridors a bit too hot, limited Bar menu choice, though room Elizabeth Suite was great size with four poster, bed drapes were dusty (slight ashmatic), bathroom shower hose damaged and sharp edges and should have been changed.Lack of parking, but not really a problem as I know the area well. bed was too hard. The car park was not big enough when there was a function being held at the hotel. The tv remote in my room was missing and so I could not use the tv and the shower head fell off the wall when I first used it (to be fair I was offered a change of rooms but by this time I had unpacked and settled in and as I was staying for one night only I decided to stay put). During the evening I asked reception to book me a taxi for the following morning but this was not done and I ended up sharing a taxi to the same destination with other guests. The exterior has been neglected for some time and needs a complete face-lift. If I was looking for a hotel on spec, I would have driven straight past the Hatfield which is a shame because although the interior is dated it has character. I would come again. shower was very poor. a bit too hot in the corridors, customer service could be improved. The decor was very old fashioned - made us think of fawlty towers!!. Night club noisy next door!. Needs to be refurbished as quiet shabby. But still great value for money. I would stay again if the price was right. I didn't like the fact that all the hallways were felt about athousand degrees but the room was freezing, the heater in our roomdidn't work at all.The heat. The service, although polite and hepful, was rather lacking in awarenessof the client.Whoever gave planning permission for a night club next door wants their head testing. (It was called Hush Hush the names a joke as music was thumping until 2am!). Decor was a bit dated. The view - over the dustbins!. Too hot a rabbitt warren of corridors. The initial appearance of the hotel was rather grubby and could do with a good coat of paint. The handle of the toilet cistern was broken and as the hotel only had 2 single rooms available for us to move to, we decided to stay and flush by removing the top.We were given a minimal discount for this inconvenience. the room i stay in was very smal you cant see this from the hotel info. Impossible to get to sleep until after 3.00am due to the noise from the disco in the ajoining building. No hot water first day; refusal to provide an evening sandwich at 10.30 in the bar, when service is said to be 24 hours; room perpetually hot even though central heating switched off and windows open. The decor was in need of rejuvination and the bed was 'tired'. We did not make use of the estaqblishment otherwise. We are e-mailed the Hotel with our complaint about an inexplicable noise from above the ceiling. Drab decor in the resraurant and bar. dinner menu unimaginative and very limited choice. Room small and also very hot for the time of year. Decor from the sixties, light did not work in bathroom. The room was dirty, cramped and run down. it was dirty, in a bad state of repair with leaking taps and broken tv proped up on newspapers, everything was well worn.
