Very very friendly staff - Good price - very good location and connection to the city too - shops around - . The staff was great, nice, and helpful. The hotel was in a quiet area, so it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas and get a good nights sleep. It is half a block from the Tube station and on the Tube line that goes to all the main areas, so no need to change lines. There are also some nice pubs nearby.

I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic get-away, but it is comfortable, clean, and everything worked, i.e. heat and hot water. The toilet and shower was FAR too small!. i did not like the separate water tabs for hot and cold water, but - it´s English :). Hotel needs updating and refurnishing.No wi-fi in the hotel. The building is in need of renovation, creaky floors, very badly tiled bathroom, windows 'painted' shut For this reason I would normally have to answer no to the recommendation question, However service and helpfulness of the staff second to none so get's a yes from me. That said I was in the Annex building so maybe main hotel building lives up to staff.Room too smal. awfull coffee for breakfast in the somewhat dated breakfast room - no marmite in sight! - very noisy plumbing conencted to the tolilet in the room. Breakfast is too simple and not have much choice. And noise is too much. Facilities are old. room could have been more thoroughly cleaned and window was not properly secure. small room, dirty bathroom, ladder positioned to our window which seemed quite dodgy... The rooms need updating; the first one I was offered was so desolate and dark that I asked for another option and got offered a smaller but lighter room. The mattresses are old, and you could do some serious rock climbing exercises on the artex wall coverings.size of room. The bathroom is too small to take a shower.The fact you had to hand your key in whenever you leave the hotel, the room was dirty, the cleaners just walked into your room with out checking to see if you're there and the bathroom was a joke!. Rooms were very small. Furniture, TV and radio set was antique and didn't worked properly. Walls are very thin and it is possible to hear everything that happens behind them. Even talks in normal voice...Double-bed standard in London means I would be sharing a bathroom with another 2 rooms.
