We had a double and 2 single rooms (allowing our grown-up sons not to share) for the same price as the budget chains with good facilities. Happy to arrange for me to have meals in room due to having my spaniel along, and even supplying a snack for said dog! When I was delayed due to poor weather, staff waited up for my arrival and gave me a lovely warm welcome at the end of a difficult trip. Basically, make me feel as if I'm visiting with friends.
